What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

Been watching a lot of archaeology-related shows on Prime.

Extreme Archaeology:

Not sure about the first one … wasn’t impressed with what they were doing there.

On the second: really cool stuff. I see it’s leaving Prime in 7 days (but we subscribe to The Great Courses, so we’ll still get to watch it) - I really like this guy’s stuff.

Just ran through the Winx live action show. I never watched the comic it’s based on so have no comparison. It was meh but my 16 year old daughter quite enjoyed it.

Started watching Catastrophe on Prime.

So far it has some good humor, but also poignancy. Some of the characters are caricatures and that may become annoying, but I’m entertained enough to see where it goes.

Watched the first two episodes of The Americans last night. So far so good!

I’m a couple seasons in and kind of lost interest, may pick it back up later.

For Christmas I got the full series of the 90’s sitcom Cop Rock. You can watch it for free on YouTube, but the quality isn’t great.

It’s an awesome cop drama that is also a musical. It’s been great to watch.

Just started Euphoria on HBO Max.

Dark and realistic portrayal of high school life nowadays.

Social media, LGBTQ, bullying, drugs, sex, teenagers pretending to be adults and using statutory rate as leverage against college kids.

same universe as Hill Street Blues?

Entire series can’t be that many
mostly mocked when it came out

Carnival Row on Amazon prime. Guess season 2 just dropped, we’re on S1.

There are only 11 episodes. I’ve never watched Hill Street Blues, but a quick read of the Wikipedia article makes it sounds like they are in the same universe (one character from HSB makes an appearance).

loved HSB, no idea if can be found to binge.

it essentially created the evening serial, where episodes were continuous stories and pre-DVR and on demand, you felt like you couldn’t miss an episode

J.R. Ewing says, “Hold my Lone Star.”
Peyton Manning says “I stole another’s name for my own show.”

Starting How To Get Away With Murder. I watched the first episode when it came out, but the opening scene was so dark on my TV I was lost before it got going.

Not the highest on my list, but want to watch for Cicely Tyson

it’s good. the finale episode is about as good as it could get

A bit too slick for my taste

I liked this show a lot. Fell out of watching it at some point, but plan to binge it now that it’s finished. I have a hard time staying on top of shows when they’re still running, as bingeing is my natural state of tv watching.

shows I get into I watch when on. may do on demand if miss an episode.

When I binge, I will only do shows that have completed. Funny though, not always as obvious as you would believe

so worth it

FYI, Wandavision keeps getting better and better to the point that Episode 5 signals something that will have a huge impact on the MCU.

Glad I stuck with it. The first two episode were meh, but now it is getting very interesting.
