What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

Finished “Rome” return.
I remember now that it was a pretty disapponting ending.

“Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal” on HBO, first on CNN. I think I tried watching this when it was first on, but stupid news got in the way of the recordings.
It’s mostly a John Dean confessional. Was four parts, about 45m each, but it could have been an hour and a half tops, cutting out all the duplication.
And the main point of it was to relate that scandal with tRump’s first term (was first aired in 2022, I think).
What tRump got from all this was Nixon’s contention that “when a President does something, it is not illegal.”

Rewatching the original run of Arrested Development.

The ladies of the household are watching Off Campus

It’s a rom-com series with hockey players and musical montages and lots of racy scenes of hot people hooking up. Totally up their alley :joy:

Started watching Widow’s Bay. Had to take a break because it was too creepy (and hilarious). But seems excellent. And Matthew Rhys is a smoke show. So I’ll continue watching.

Also starting watching the Burroughs. Also seems pretty creepy.

Just started Margo’s Got Money Troubles with Elle Fanning on Apple TV.

We’ve been watching that too. It’s pretty good. Not exactly what we expected but looking forward to the last episodes.

I don’t think the ending was disappointing. The second season felt rushed, because during production of season 2 they producers found out that the series was being cancelled so they mashed all of the planned season 3 into season 2. The originally had a multi-season roadmap, eventually ending with the life and times of Hay-zuss.

One of the issues with that season was the timeline. No idea when it was at any time. Like, months between episodes. Riding on horses from Rome to Macedonia and back. Riding to Gaul and back. Riding to Egypt and back. Etc.
No one gets any older, though.

Watched “Sarah Squirm” on Netflix(?). Eh. Shock comedy should try to be funny.

Started a “Comedy” doc on HBOMax, first on CNN. It’s OK.

Started and finished a Jefferson docu-series (Netflix).
Eh.

We figured out that we watched season 3, so just jumped back in with season 4 and finished season 5 yesterday. I had forgotten how ridiculously gory this show is. So.Much.Blood.

It was a fun ride, a bit predictable imo, but enjoyed watching some satisfying comeuppance. I can see why maga folks would be upset when they realized they were being satirized. Pretty spot on in that regard.

finished the closer. all caught up on ghosts.

starting Hacks next

The Boroughs - Netflix decent sci-fi fantasy series.
