What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

Yes. We are watching it and it is good.

Final season of The Boys

We need to catch up on the Boys. I think we watched 2 seasons and then never got back to it.

I watched 2 season of The Boys and found I enjoyed Generation V much more. It is a sort of parallel world with overlapping characters in the same time frame. Based on a school for kids who’s parents dosed them with V and who have developed powers.

Not parallel, integrated. But unfortunately I believe Gen V has been cancelled.

We never got around to Season 4 of the Boys. Are 4-5 as good as the first 3?

I have enjoyed them. Season 4 was a little weaker if I remember correctly but still enjoyable. Assuming you enjoyed the prior seasons. I guess it depends how you feel about the direction of our country in real life and political tie-ins with the direction of the show which tends to mirror it…only on steriods.

I like what they did with the first half of season 5 and interested to see what they do to resolve in the end.

Running Point (2 season Netflix, possibly renewed for 3s) - follows the fictional LA Waves basketball team and their dysfunctional family owned front office where the daughter gets put in charge after older brother crashes a car and goes into rehab. Somewhat predictable and some of the actual basketball stuff bothered me. But was pretty funny and enjoyable.

Have been bingeing true crime on youtube. The channel Explore With Us (EWU) is so good. It’s all based on body cam and interrogation room footage that’s edited together and narrated well.

Watched Big Mistakes from Dan Levy. Quite amusing.

Rewatching Cheers.

Definitely top 5 sitcoms ever. Top 3?

Definitely a great show. Of American sitcoms, I would probably only rate Seinfeld, Curb and The Office above it. If including British, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder and The IT Crowd.

All time great theme tune as well.

I was thinking MASH, Seinfeld and Cheers in the Triumvirate.

Honeymooners and Cosby round up the top 5

Simpsons #1 if you consider that a sitcom

I have to think about… it All In The Family, Taxi, WKRP, Barney Miller, Cosby, Seinfeld, Cheers, Dick Van Dyke, Friends, Mary Tyler Moore, Big Bang Theory, The Odd Couple, Early Roseanne

I know you all are just messing with me right now. Anyone who ranks TBBT over KoQ is clearly pulling something.

Definitely in the top 5!

Finished “The Penguin.”
Eh.

Reminds me of another ugly, fat, lying fuck from across the river from the city.

Also, was Colin Farrell trying to sound like Tony Soprano?

I have never hate-watched a show as hard as I am hate-watching Girls. It is HORRIBLE and all of these characters are completely evil.

Definitely.
I stopped watching early in Season 1.
Also, who the hell talks that much about nothing during sex?? I mean, I get it, it’s supposed to be a comedy, but that doesn’t have a basis of truthiness in it.

We are watching “Nurse Jackie” on Netflix (originally aired on Showtime).
It’s alright. Watching final season. So much extreme switching between comedy and tragedy sometimes simultaneously. No, it’s not genius. It’s too forced.

I liked it because I felt it really captured Brooklyn. I probably wouldn’t want to hang out with any of the characters but I thought it was well written.

Funny, when I lived in Brooklyn after it had finished, I walked past Ebon Moss-Bachrach on the sidewalk and I thought “I wonder what he’s doing now?” A couple of years later he landed a role in The Bear.
