What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

Tickets for Paul Simon concerts in Vancouver go on sale tomorrow. They are in an intimate venue so am tempted to buy tickets. The only times I saw him (and Garfunkel) in the past were in stadiums. Despite his weak performance on the SNL special it will be worth it just to see him live one last time. Such a talent!

too much of a cliff hanger

would have waited if i knew

Saw him on his Graceland tour. Very good.

Watching SNL Homecoming Concert. Pretty good, though it’s on Peacock, so commercials.

Nice little switch from draw with replacement to draw without replacement in episode 1.

Just found Detective Anna, season 2 on Tubi. No dubbing though (Amazon had season 1 dubbed), so it will take a while to get through the 40 episodes reading subtitles.

Watched the six episodes of Zero Day on Netflix.

It was an ok political thriller but actual US politics is scarier. Robert De Niro was good as the former President who came out of retirement to find the bad guys.

Would not watch a second season if there was one.

thanks, had added it to my queue, will watch eventually

looking for a series to watch with MsPZ.

She has liked various Star Treks and Sopranos ( a wide range) but, would mostly not watch many SciFis or a violent drama. I need her to get in the door first, metaphorically.

So what would be a good series to stream?
half hour sitcoms or hour long.
not too weird or over the top.
Known actors would help.

Thinking Only Murders or Resident Alien
She was watching Gracie and Frankie and got bored

I have most of the Streaming services except Apple

Only Murders is fun, and not very violent or gory.
Resident Alien is great if it hits for you. Very dark sense of humor in that one.

Just started watching the new Star wars thing on Disney+ - Skeleton Crew. It looks really fun.

A man on the inside (Ted Danson undercover in a retirement home) is excellent. Also Ted Lasso. Agreed that only murder fits your bill.

Finished the 4 seasons available, the last 1.33 seasons in one day. Very moreish. Apparently there are more books being written, so who knows how many seasons there will be.

In the meantime, we intend to watch the much older show about the regular mi-5 (fast horses?). It’s 10 seasons worth. It’s called Spooks in the UK but for some reason they changed the title to MI-5 for US audiences.

finished Jury Duty. the non actor dude seemed like such a nice guy. i kind of feel like him getting $100K isn’t enough

Started In From the Cold. 3 episodes (of 8) in and…i don’t know. hope it improves

Both of these.
I’m surprised you haven’t yet watched Only Murders.

I tend to only watch completed series

That really restricts the choices.
Each season can be considered a “complete story,” though it seems that each one ends with a
new murder for the following season.

M* A* S* H is on Hulu.
Wife watched Baby Reindeer, and thought it was great.

That is my preference, my wife doesn’t care and not thrilled with network TV, so she wants some new series to watch, but she is complicated and would want to know she will like it before starting

OK.
I don’t think I can be much help.
I have started watching series with my wife only to tell her “you can watch this without me,” or she would tell me, “you can watch this without me.” And we do.
We are currently watching our DVD set of Daria together, since we cannot find (probably on Paramount+) it streaming without commercials on anything we have. Downside is that it does not have most of the originally-chosen soundtrack, often chosen specifically for episodes. And the choices were so profound that my wife remembered them, even after 25 years and can recognize when they were changed due to not paying for the rights.

and M *A *S *H - I can recite pretty much the whole series by heart

Yeah, I just watched it so I don’t have to again. It was a favorite of my older brother.
I’m doing the same with Seinfeld right now.
