The Mary Tyler Moore show is really good. I grew up watching the Mary Tyler Moore Show, the Dick Van Dyke Show, Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, and a few others on Nick and Nite.
Perhaps All In The Family instead?
I grew up watching them first-run. Not Taxi, though. It was a hack show. (DYSWIDT??)
Also, Nick at Nite will be speeding up those shows and cutting down establishing shots and stuff like that. Comedic timing gets lost. On Hulu, I’ll get regular speed, uncut, and no commercials. Win-win. Win.
Rethinking “TMTMS.” It might be an interesting rewatch. James Hell Brooks, of The Simpsons and a shitload of other shows, created it. I recall the writing being pretty sharp and some expert comedic timing (“Hi, Guys…”)
Only thing keeping me back is the 70’s TV mindset. But, only seven seasons so won’t be that much of a slog.
MASH did have at one point the writing team (Isaacs and Levine) that went on to make “Cheers.” Those were the better episodes.
I had no choice but to watch MTM as my wife loved it. Bob Newhart was better as was All In The Family imo
add Barney Miller abd WKRP to the list
Centennial - 1970’s mini series - DVR’d it
only two minor Emmy nominations, so not sure why I bothered
Really enjoyed Man on the Inside. One of the few shows I could watch with my MIL (along with Murders in the Building).
We liked it too. Had fun spotting The Good Place actors.
Black Doves - spy show with Kiera Kinghtly. Interesting but convoluted. Oh and a show where it seems everyone in London carries a gun.
Dune Prophecy continues to be good after 4 episodes. Sadly there are only two episodes left. Being familiar with the Dune novels is an asset to enjoying it fully.
I can’t recall which was the final book I made it through, God Emperor? or Heritcs?, but I’m pretty sure one of those was the last I read and I know I never read any of the stuff published after his death.
But I’m rather enjoying Dune Prophesy. Whether or not it’s true to the source material, doesn’t concern me that much as the source material started going off the rails after the 2nd or 3rd book in my opinion.
Perhaps repeating but a couple Apple TV shows binging or watching as release-
silo
before - this one is odd was binging but caught up to release schedule 2 episodes left
Shrinking - light and unrealistic but engaging enough to watch
I want to catch up on Severance but wife just isn’t a fan.
Finished watching all seven seasons of MadMen. Reminded me how good it was with a perfect ending.
I finished Paranoid, Marcella and The Lies Within. Marcella was her usual crazy self … and I really enjoyed Paranoid a bit more.
I didn’t really believe the main premise of The Lies Within, which is only revealed in the final episode.
yes, but i had to explain it to people
Landman might now be the best show on TV (well TV including streaming services)
I’ve tried to watch breaking bad three times before. Trying one more time. Maybe I’ll make it past the first episode of season two this time.
I found it amazing. But…i get it
When did it hook you?
I was hooked really from the start. The desperate cook in the desert in the camper
