What are you watching (bingeing) these days?

I didn’t realize Gen V was only through 3 episodes when I watched this weekend. Now I’m stuck. Enjoyed it a lot as I liked The Boys. Very dark, quite a bit of gore too.

Did the second season of Foundation this weekend.
Better than the first, imo.

Lioness was good. Just as much about cool secret action military things as about the frail work/life balance of secret action military things employment.

Will watch the final episode of Only Murders in the Building this week because I am hooked and one of the few things my wife likes to watch with me. Great actors and a few funny lines but mediocre plot.

Agreed. Well, except for Selena Gomez.
Also, very important that each new character is a suspect during the first nine episodes, just to stretch it all out.
Also, do most “murder” podcasts drop shows while the investigation is still going on? I thought most of them were years after or for cold cases. I can’t tell if The Three’s podcast does this, or if they wait until afterward. I know they are recording bits and pieces, which I find a bit clunky. Unlike Tina Fey’s character’s podcast, which was dropped, and too many people simply believes what she says.

Also, every episode seems to have a self-reference to it. Probably on porpoise, for shits and giggles, but it does lend less credibility to the whole thing.

They are recording in real-time. They are acting like scooby-doo and the gang because the cops are shit at their job and keep arresting/accusing the wrong person.

Well, so do they.

OMITB: Well, that was disappointing.
I’ll save my comments for a couple of days, since it just dropped yesterday.

BUT:
Why would we think that a baby could commit a murder? I mean, I know shows within shows are by default bad, else they’d be actual shows.

I’m finishing up season 1 of Ghosts. I was about to quit after the first few episodes. Too many very-cliche ghost characters. And an annoyingly large ensemble cast that makes the talking-in-turn seem all that more unnatural. Oh, and I was worried they were going to continue with the (NSFW) suck me off jokes.

But after the first few episodes, they seemed to focus in on just a few characters at a time, so the large cast didn’t hurt as much. And after the first few episodes they saved up the (NSFW) suck me off jokes for special occasions and it is used very effectively. And Rose McIver just seems like the most pleasant person in the world.

The US one or the good one?

HIJACK (Apple).
Eh. It was OK. Cliffhangers kept us going. And that it was a Limited Series.
Not sure what the explanation for…

…killing the Dubai ATC and the TSA and her family were. Did I miss a connection? Or was the TSA person distracted by her under-duress husband to come home at that critical moment when the hijackers were going through security? Then, killed her when she came home?

The show within the show was meant to be terrible.

I thought this was the last season but apparently not.

She only had to let the bearded guy through security (the guy that Idris Elba sweet-talked the airline attendant into letting him onto the plane after the gate was closed) who the hijackers had blackmailed into taking the bag on the plane. Not sure why they killed her after other than to show that they were not averse to killing people.

Finished Bad Sisters and canceled Apple TV.

Finished season 2 of For All Mankind. Wow, what a finale! Season 3 is set in the 90s.

Well, I don’t think she knew about the plan. She got a call from her husband telling her to come home right away. I believe her husband was forced into making the call so she would be distracted enough to look away. I think I saw the final “pilot” sneak her bag through with the gun in it.

.

You’re right in that there didn’t seem much sense in killing her after the plane had taken off. Maybe keep the family hostage for a few more hours instead? It felt like they needed filler for the first couple of episodes.

My big problem was the idiot captain who opened the door to save his latest fling whilst happily displaying a photo of his wife and kids on the console. Hmmm, should I open the door and give the hijackers the opportunity to kill hundreds or even thousands of people (including the fling) or should I give my latest fling a couple more hours of terrified life?

That good, eh?

New season of Loki started. Rest of the family binged season 1 and then we watched first episode of season 2. Really enjoying this because it’s more sci-fi than smash-up action like most of the Marvel movies. I like the multiple timelines stuff. Family is liking it too. Maybe I can finally get someone to watch Primer with me. Been wanting to do a rewatch of that for a while now.

I mean I liked it but having finished that and Ted Lasso I didn’t need to keep the service.
