What are you reading?

a lot of Holmes here all of a sudden.

I just picked up Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, haven’t read any before

as I wrote elsewhere, there’s a reason all the short stories are titled “The Adventure of…” whatever.

It’s because these are more adventure stories than mysteries.

Reading “Children of God” by Mary Doria Russell (sequel to "The Sparrow).

Also writing a book, finishing the novel I started for NaNoWriMo. Currently at about 52k words.

I enjoyed those.

no difference to me. And when I say picked up, I mean it literally.

I go past a take one / leave one on my walks and grab what looks interesting

Y’all read too fast.

They seem like mysteries (detective who-done-it) to me.
Some of the stories start with The Adventure of…" but they are still who-done-it.

That is a good find!

I’ve slowed down a lot the last month or so :frowning:readingNovember

Currently about halfway through the unabridged The Stand. I should finish that by this weekend, then I think I’m going to read a bunch of SHORTER books for the remainder of December. It’s not out of the question that I could read 30-40 shorter books by the end of the month (I mean, I’m including some of the shorter Borges collections in there, etc.).

Consider my mouth agape.

In my own defense, a lazy eye really slows down one’s ability to read.

Also have you considered any other hobbies?

I’ve played almost 60 hours of AC: Valhalla!

…but you do not have a significant other, right?

If you do, when do you fit in the time to like… see… them?

For the last 9 months we’ve been in the same room together for 18-22 hours a day?

Just yada-yada-yada all the time with these newlyweds.
Only reading is the Kama Sutra.

And then some of us are awake when the spouse is asleep… Plenty of time to read, esp as one can do other things while reading, like washing the dishes or eating

Yep. I’m generally up 2-4 hours later.

Still going to bed at the same time over here because cuddles and such.

Speaking of which, we’re also reading Until the End of Time by Brian Greene out loud together. This generally happens right before going to bed… and from the comfort of a warm bath.
