Yeah, good point. I’ll use 200 as my starting weight because it’s not too far off anyway.

@NerdAlert thanks for being brave. This is my graph, long straight lines are me giving up tracking. Starting again today. Time to move this line in the right direction. Goal weight is X - 150. I’d be happy to get there in 3 years. I’d be happy to get there in 7 years. I just want to stop adding to X to start.

Summary

I didn’t bother to save my weight history from the ao before it got canned. I started making an effort to drop some weight in late 2018 when I hit 206. Was between 180-185 for most of 2020. I’d look best around 160, but I am not willing yet to make the concessions on diet and exercise to get there. I like to eat well and I know what it takes to get me to 160. I think 170ish is a good goal for now.

Highest adult weight was 235 and lowest was 160. Both were over 20 years ago. I’m 5’11"

I had gotten out of the habit of the weekly weigh in since the ao died, so starting over.

Been sticking to the 16/8 plan, making sure that the “16” part is attained. The “8” is somewhat variable, but when I finish eating, the “16” begins.
I also discovered that a sugary yummy snack should not be the last thing to eat. Just makes the morning that much tougher to get through.
Hard to get a workout scheduled as well. I prefer (need) to eat following a workout, but I don’t like to eat about an hour (or two) prior to a workout (causes indigestion). So it’s last thing during the fasting, or right before dinner. but if I’m making dinner, it often means picking something up.

I’ve also been doing the intermittent fasting thing for about a year, but am not super strict about timing. I typically eat all my calories between 11a and 7p, but if dinner is running a little later it’s no big deal. Usually if I’m cooking I eat before 7, but when the wife is making dinner she tends to do it a little later. For me, I think it’s working because I tend to consume fewer calories by sticking on that schedule.

As a never-breakfaster and one who eats dinner when my kids do, before 6:30, I’ve been doing 16/8 much of my adult life.

Got in a bad habit of eating second dinner a few times a week when I felt extra depressed in the last few months, but I’ve put the kibosh on that.

I usually weigh myself first thing in the morning, after peeing, but before the daily #2 (but sometimes after). And before I drink my first 24oz of water. (Fail this morning, already at about 12oz.)

Low carb for a week, usually has a good impact at first. Mr. NA has dropped about five pounds, and is about to catch down to me in weight, which can’t happen.

I’d rather this thread be a safe space.
