I’m on a weight/muscle gain journey.

Was down 15 lbs when COVID happened. Back to breakeven since gym opened.

At 180lb right now.

Timeline of events:

  • FY2019 : Moved countries, got married (looked fat), Christmas happened (got fatter)
  • Started with a personal trainer March 2020 (he stayed open during the pandemic)
  • Weight remained unchanged for the first month
  • Started Synthroid 25 MCG in May
  • Weight started going down!
  • No change to habits, training schedule, or medications
  • Weight started going… up?!
  • Arbitrarily increased own dosage to 50 MCG in August
  • Weight started going down!
  • Eventually receive doctor’s approval once medications run out
  • Plateau at current weight levels
  • Can now do push-ups like a boss

And now you’re caught up with the history. Don’t expect a follow-up.

Starting to push through the plateau, but it’s a slow grind. Probably because I’m not dieting.

Hi, I’m Ted Hoffman and I’d like to join in because … I’m fat, and I don’t want to be fat, and I have goals that I want to accomplish in the next 10 1/2 months before I turn 50. My target weight is 175. My real target weight is 160, but let’s get to 175 first and see how it goes. Also, I have a goal to get back to running and to run 3 specific courses next fall - time is (mostly) irrelevant, just want to run them without stopping or feeling like I’m going to die before I hit the end.
