I think Trump can get quite a bit of new votes because of inflation. Everyone knows prices are up. Not everyone knows that inflation in the US is better than in the rest of the world, or cares that it might be linked to the pandemic or M1 tripling in May of 2020.
I think thatās more Joe losing votes. Like Trump losing votes because of Jan 6 or facing 91 felonies. People will stay home.
canāt decide what a third party run would do.
Manchin said he wouldnāt
What if Haley or Christie?
We already have Kennedy running. Thatās going to be a big wildcard imo
such a nutjob, no idea who he draws,
Dems that have done no research?
In the unlikely event that No Labels gets its act together and can mount a credible campaign (enough support to get into the debatesā¦if there are even going to be debates), I think campaign calculus changes in a way I struggle to imagine. GOTV would still obviously be important, but I doubt that any post-mortem will see GOTV as the primary explanation of the election result.
I think itās a mix of old hippies and conspiracy nuts, including a decent swath of antivaxxers from both sides of the aisle. Hard to say what effect he will have on the election, but his ~10% of the vote could swing things either way.
Liz Cheney will run if she pulls more votes from Trump than she pulls from Biden.
Iām not sure Christie would pull many votes that Haley would not. In all likelihood heāll only get the never-Trumpers and the purest-of-the-ideologically-pure Democrats who want to voice their discontent, even if it means Trump wins again.
Haley would get pretty much the same crowd, but with far more support. Probably overall sheād pull more from Republicans.
However, Haley isnāt going to do that. Her best shot is Trump dying. Incarceration perhaps, but I assume heād continue running from prison and still be the frontrunner. If Trump doesnāt die, she has a shot at 2028 if the momentum of MAGA begins to die out after 3+ consecutive elections (20, 22, 24) tip strongly toward Democrats.
She could be seen as the return to sanity⦠if the party has any interest in becoming sane. Thatās a big if. Iām not certain that even losing 24, 26, and 28 would course-correct the party. (And Iām not saying those wins are a near-certainty, though the current trajectory seems favorable.) Most likely all of those elections will just be stolen by ballot-stuffing and Taylor Swift.
IIRC, Boebert is struggling even in the new district she moved to following the public sexual conduct/dating a drag-show-hosting Democrat scandals.
Now it appears her son has been stealing wallets/purses from cars.
she and MTG should just go do OnlyButterfaces already
I blame the parents.
there are politicians who could show some grace and overcome a bad act by their kid (assuming it isnāt too bad). like, someone gifted enough to find the words about how parenting is a struggle and you donāt always get the outcomes/behaviors you expect, etc. bc, as a parent, i know that sucks and kids can do things that just leave you stunned.
anyway, she has not shown herself to be capable of the needed grace, humility, or wordsmithing. some of her prior words in fact may come back to haunt her (relating alleged criming by hunter biden and how it reflects on joe).
I didnāt read the article - was this theft in her NEW district home or the old one?
look at him, respecting the potential political fallout by criming eselwhere!
(eta - was corrected that it was in fact in a relevant district. not respectin the fallout afterall)
Sorry, I misspoke and deleted. I was looking at state House districts. It is her current district, 3.
So, one new complaint about the Electoral College.
It gives too much power to Arabs?
Trying to take over golf and soccer and tennis, now the US Election System?
McConnell to step down as Senate leader in November
to be fair, we werenāt really doing much with it anyway.
Golf? Yes, we should pay more attention to that, keep it as our own.
Is this your own concern, or was this noted on FoxNews? Sounds FoxNewsy.
Is this regarding the large number of Muslims in MI writing in āundecidedā on the Dem Primary? Why didnāt they vote for Haley in the GOP Primary? (Maybe not allowed to cross.)
