United States Presidential & Congressional Election 2024

Having these conversations reminds me that if he won again his cabinet and staff would be so screwy this time around that it would be nearly impossible to predict all the things that could go wrong over 4 years.

And just like that, Ramaswamy’s presidential aspirations end before they begin.

The irony is that I guess he celebrated it a couple months before the MAGA sirens swayed him far right.

Compromise: hold elections on Juneteenth. Black voters will be too busy celebrating to vote.

The editorialization/manipulation of people’s comments by the media is very problematic. At least (some of?) Ramaswamy’s comments are quoted later in the article. He answers questions that are asked of him, and then supports his answers. The written media then paints a partial view designed to rile people up.

I do not see a problem with his overall comments.

He could have picked Columbus Day instead.

I’m not sure that kills his primary campaign, actually. Possibly a dealbreaker in the general election.

I assume that his end game is to get his name out there in 2023 to shore up his chances in 2028. He’s young; he’s got lots of time to run for POTUS, and plenty of time to backpedal on stuff he says now.

Also, I should’ve known by who was gushing about him at that party I was at last month that I would not like him.

Nov 2024: Biden (D) and Trump (R) both get less than 270 electoral votes. The House (R majority) chooses Trump. But Trump is in prison, so VP (Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia or former Arizona television host Kari Lake) runs the country [into the ground?].

If it were more offensive, it might have been a good move for him. The classic Trump strategy is to find a level that offends democrats but doesn’t offend republicans as much. Then you get in the news, and Republicans get to feel superior. But I don’t think this one is offensive enough to actually make the news much. Which again, I think is a weakness with Ramaswamy’s angle. Being “anti-woke” isn’t exciting enough. He needs to be anti-gay, or anti-black, or something. Then it would be more exciting.

Maybe the debates will go well for him. Though I suspect he’ll lose culture-war questions for the same exact reason. He won’t go as far as the other debaters.

Friendly reminder: Ted Cruz won Iowa in 2016. Someone should tell the crazy man.

He could be referring to the general, which would make it true. Not directly on point, but what do you expect?

Friendly reminder: Ted Cruz won Iowa in 2016. Someone should tell the crazy man.

I suppose you also think Joe Biden won the 2020 election? How naïve. Just ask Trump:

“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he illegally stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong any [sic] why he got more votes than anticipated. Bad!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.

Note that Trump is also planning to be the first Republican to win three Presidential elections.

Trump’s guest in his private box today at the Liv Golf tournament: (from wikipedia)

Laura Elizabeth Loomer (born May 21, 1993)[1] is an American far-right and anti-Muslim political activist,[a][b] white nationalist,[2][3] conspiracy theorist[4][5] and internet personality.[6] She was the Republican nominee to represent Florida’s 21st congressional district in the 2020 United States House of Representatives elections, losing to Democrat Lois Frankel.[7][8] She also ran in the Republican primary for Florida’s 11th congressional district in 2022, narrowly losing to incumbent Daniel Webster. [9]

Loomer has worked as an activist and journalist for several organizations, including Project Veritas,[10] The Rebel Media and InfoWars.[11][10] Loomer gained notoriety as a result of being banned from numerous social media platforms, payment processors, vehicles for hire, and food delivery mobile apps for various reasons, including violating policies on hate speech and spreading misinformation.[12][13][14][15] She has also been banned and removed from events, and had press credentials revoked, for harassment and causing disturbances.[15][16]

Those are my favorite… where he just throws in a “Bad!”… like he’s just boiling over and can’t put it into words

Interesting that he hosted an anti-Muslim person at a LIV event. Also wondering how much he is getting paid to host these events. He and Jim Justice in WV are both hosting LIV events at their properties and running for office in 2024.

Being anti-Muslim at LIV may seem strange, but it’s more important to be pro-Dictatorship.

It would be fun to have LIV turn their back on Trump for this.

And The Greenbrier: such a lovely history of racial discrimination. Some Actuarial magazine had a story of Robert Randall, first black actuary, denied admission to an SOA meeting there, in the 50’s. Seems it has been erased from the internet.

Debate prep notes for DeSantis have apparently leaked, and recommend that he joins the bad nickname club. In particular, they’re considering having him call Ramaswamy “Fake Vivek” (get it? It rhymes. Insert Beavis and Butthead laugh.)

DeSantis is holding a meet DeSantis at the debate contest. He posted it on Twitter 3 days ago, has gotten 230K views, and :checks notes: 47 likes. I don’t think his campaign is going to be successful.

If all of GOA enters, what is our collective chance of winning?

I… don’t get it. I just checked online how to pronounce Vivek in case I had it wrong. Fuh-keh Vih-Vehk? That’s the closest slant rhyme I can make that completely mispronounces “fake”.
