she was subbing for Johnny

Gonna need a medium to talk to him. While they’re at it ask Johnny what Ivana thinks of her burial site.

I mean not delivered to the voter in the first place.

Ah well I also get this email letting me know it’s been sent (or text if I want) and how to contact someone if I don’t get it

Get that guy who says Brian Laundrie apologized for killing Gabby Petito to channel Johnny Carson, and we might be on to something.

Which, … is going to be really interesting, because Carson didn’t buy the psychic / medium bullshit.

Carnac the Magnificent!

Yeah well in my case it was a monster hassle. Hours on hold with the elections office during the work day. And it was a systemic issue: every registered Republican in my 150 unit building did not receive their ballot, whereas every registered Democrat did.

It sure as heck seemed like an attempt at voter suppression. And there was a tight race for Governor and everyone knew it was going to be tight.

I don’t want a medium, i want a large, an extra large, i want someone to bring back people who aren’t even dead yet

That seems like something that should have been investigated for sure. Never heard of anything like that happening around here, but I would advocate jail time for anyone who pulled a stunt like that.

Yeah, no clue whether it was an elections worker or a rogue mail carrier or what, but it was NOT a simple process to get a replacement.

I has so many problems in Multnomah County, but that was the worst.

It’s frustrating that whatever happened, by accident or intent, things like this get brushed away due to the cavalcade of people disingenuously or ignorantly claiming fraud when there was none. The types who illegally took voting machines that they claimed had discrepancies, filed dozens of lawsuits, tried to photograph poll workers, filled Facebook and Twitter with 100M comments based on a grainy CCTV video that turned out to not be election fraud, but somebody grabbing a mint.

I read your story and immediately thought “bullshit”. Then considered the source. And thought the above.

I consider our elections quite safe, but inevitably having flaws that are worth closely investigating and improving.

That’s a good point. Trump went to the courts 60+ times for the 2020 election results. Was his goal to actually win a case, or was his goal to just flood the media with nonsense LIKE HE DOES WITH EVERYTHING so that people are numb to whatever he wants to do next.

We can debate if Trump is actually strategic with this, but it should be pretty clear by now that he has done this his entire life, he has been successful in doing this, and we need to stop getting caught up in the details of specific events as that is the first step towards losing against him.

If you think about the debate with Harris, she really worked this angle without saying it directly. “Weird” also does a nice job of calling it out.

Yes, it is strategic. It is related to a sales/marketing technique. Present your potential customer with a problem, real or bogus, then provide the solution to the problem. You can see it play out in most infomercials. The MAGA addition is to use a “problem” to cover your own crime.

In this case screaming about election fraud without evidence because they want to commit election fraud. In the general case accusations of a problem they make without evidence, and repeat ad nauseam is tied to something they have done, something they plan to do, or cover for a solution worse than the problem.

Trump is so entrenched in this method it makes him predictable.

Related to this is the rise of JD Vance. His “I am lying to you” presentations, egg prices to immigration status, are full implementations of doublethink. Maybe he’s just another Palin but I don’t think so. I believe he is self aware. It is why he scares me significantly more than Trump as president. Trump looks inward and his crimes reflect that. Vance looks outward, those potential crimes are so much worse than grift, greed, and self aggrandizement.

RFK isn’t really part of any party (or I guess is part of several parties but not trying to win), but as he is now a Trump supporter and surrogate I guess it goes here:

Now, what about [second wife] Richardson? Vanity Fair revealed back in July 2024 that Kennedy was reportedly known for sending explicitly nude images to other women and engaging in multiple affairs.

Not only that, but before Richardson’s suicide, she instructed her sisters to publish his journal to media outlets, which detailed at least 37 affairs he had in his marriage to her, per New York Mag.

Something I posted months ago, RFK being asked about sexual assault allegations:

I had a very, very rambunctious youth

I am not a church boy

I have so many skeletons in my closet that if they could all vote I could run for king of the world

RFK claims that this particular relationship was only one-sided from Nuzzi.

Why does this aspect remind me of his uncle?

Shorter Haley: “I haven’t forgotten about any of the bad stuff Trump said about me and my husband, and how he trashed my husband’s military service … but I’m a good Republican and I’ll gladly bend the knee on command, so of course I’ll still vote for him.”

Yeah that’s always the kicker

Ted Cruz Award of the Year contender IMO, for “most insulted/denigrated by Trump before becoming a sycophant”

Other contenders: JD Vance, Lindsay Graham
