United States Presidential & Congressional Election 2024

The law doesn’t actually specify that tampons have to be in boys’ bathrooms. It requires that they be available in spaces that menstruating students use regularly, so if a school doesn’t have any trans boys, or doesn’t allow them to use the boys’ room, then they don’t need to have them there (unless it is something like a boys’ locker room that is used by visiting girls sports teams).

She should also practice against SNL writers and actors for “Clown Trump”. I am serious.

Not asking you to explain it but I don’t understand how it would work for teenagers but not husbands and boyfriends. That group is crazy.

I’d expect something about how the Deep State primarily targets young, vulnerable children to convert to the trans agenda.

Boyfriends can be explained because MAGA boyfriends wouldn’t interact with icky female things. Females should hide their monthly shame.

Disagree… I think it’s a belief that anyone who menstruates should be using the womens / girls restrooms. (ie trans boys are really girls and they should use the girls room)

But obviously as Samantha points out, it’s pretty standard for a visiting girls sports team to use the boys locker room and a visiting boys sports team to use the girls locker room. So banning menstrual products from the boys locker room would make them more difficult for visiting girl athletes to obtain.

These are the contradictions the USA has I struggle with. Freedom is defined differently for things like speech/guns compared to other things like sexuality/abortion. We are willing to let freedom of speech lead to things like Jan 6 but refuse freedom to decide on abortion. Honestly that’s being willing to risk your democracy but not willing to risk less consequential things. I don’t get it.

Who is this WE? That is a MAGA platform, most Americans hope that isn’t WE
Plus everyone wants freedom of speech, but that say WE are too ignorant to actually know what that means

Hopefully Trump supporters who believe Trump will work to improve their standard of living have realized by now that Trump has no intention of helping the working class. Pretty clear which side he is on.

Hate to tell you but the private sector Unions in the US are loosing their own rank and file when it comes to politics. They haven’t been able to deliver the kind of unified voting block they had in the past for a long time now and its been getting worse for them.

That’s why the Teamsters head went to the GOP convention. He realized that a lot of his membership would already be watching.

In my limited knowledge, I expect kamala to be precise and hard hitting and trump to be ranting about something else entirely. Then she’ll take a hard dig at him, and he’ll have a complete and very public incoherent meltdown. I give it 50-50 this is what happens.

What Trump policies do they feel help them fnancially? Both Trump and Harris are pretty America First on jobs.

Trump is bringing back all the low skill, high wage manufacturing and mining jobs just like last time.

According to a White House correspondent for the Huffington Post, the Trump campaign responded to an inquiry about whether he was slurring with a different explanation: “Must be your shitty hearing. Get your ears checked.”

Remember, “what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing is not what’s happening.”

Trump on the new pic of Kamala on Time Magazine:

Trump told Musk, “She looks like the most beautiful actress ever to live. It was a drawing, and actually, she looked very much like a great first lady, Melania.”

I’m trying to take the high road but I’m going to make one exception. Trump treats women like objects. Vance, on the other hand, treats objects like women.

Manufacturing in the US has been on the decline for a long time. That trend continued under trump where there was a net loss of manufacturing jobs even before COVID hit. COVID hit and it knocked out a shit ton more.

Under Biden who claims “almost 800,000 new manufacturing jobs” manufacturing jobs are indeed up. However the number is closer to 200,000 new jobs with the rest recovery of the COVID hit.

I’d say reversing a 20 year trend of declining manufacturing jobs with new manufacturing jobs whether that is 200K or 800K is still noteworthy and far better than Trump did not bringing back all those great coal minim jobs and such.

Those gains are a direct result of the Infrastructure Act, Chips Act and IRA.So I’d say the dems can and should be touting that this election cycle. I know the Republicans who voted against it tout it in their home districts and them being able to bring home the bacon so the Dems who actually did pass it should be able to credit for it.

And I think you are right that Shawn Fain spoke at the RNC not to endorse them but rather as you say, speak to the disaffected members of the working class who have for one reason or another gravitated to both the GOP and often into MAGA country.

That said, he’s also been speaking at Harris rallies fully endorsing her and saying that DJT doesn’t give a damn about the working class.

Here’s a chart for you. Aggregate spending on manufacturing facilities in the US over the past decade.

The UAW has filed suit against Elon and Donald for comments made during yesterday’s thing.

I didn’t watch the Trump/Elon interview, but I just read that he brought up “caravans” again.

It surprised me to realize that Caravan Season isn’t on full display this election. Caravan Season usually starts airing on Fox in the spring/summer of every Presidential election.
