United States Congressional Election 2026

I expect him to fire them via Socia-Lies. That’s my new name for his blathering online monologue board.

That chart might need some normalization.

I wonder how much of the growth is GOP weirdness vs an overall shift in mode of communications.

I’m surprised it took him so long to unload. Perhaps the delay in reaction help him build up a big load of…something.

Alito and Thomas again.

Those two are precisely why the next D President needs to expand the Court.

It’s probably a strategic error from the GOP’s perspective for Alito and Thomas to have not retired earlier this year, in order to give the Glorious Leader an opportunity to replace them with younger, similarly-minded justices. I can’t imagine they’d both stay on the bench through 2036, if the Dems managed to win and hold the White House in the next two elections.

If the Dems do fail to win a majority in the Senate, I wouldn’t be surprised if that error gets fixed next year.

In the past year, the Utah Supreme Court said no to the attempt to the latest gerrymander attempt, and in response, they have already packed the court, adding 2 new seats, and given the governor the power to select the chief justice. The Democrats like to talk about using power, the Republicans do so.

Republicans might have an enthusiasm gap

There is now a published poll with Trump under 30% approval rating. It’s ARG, who have a poor reputation and often wildly disagree with other pollsters, and other recent polls have been more around 40%, but still enough to get ketchup thrown on walls.

More reliable pollster (Reuters / Ipsos) has Trump at 32%

Nate Silver tends to adjust Reuters a little less unfavorable when amalgamating the tracking polls.

…but that doesn’t yet include the two polls mentioned above.

Trump has pretty consistently found new ways to piss off more American’s each month. Maybe that needs to go in the achievements thread.

I wonder if this is coming out now b/c someone at the FBI doesn’t want Collins re-elected.

The Glorious Leader promised us that we would win so much that we’d get tired of winning.

Are we tired of winning yet?

Updating my earlier relay…Nate Silver’s approval rating tracker has been updated to pick up the latest “record low” polling results.

Strangely I’ve known about this douchenozzle for years. His sticker company was heavily used by the soccer supporters groups in my city, and I think countrywide. IIRC he made offensive comments on social media and all the supporters groups immediately dropped him and he had a bit of an online meltdown.

MAGA radio host freaks out over new Trump crisis - Alternet.org

“Yesterday,” posted Deace, “Iowa House Republicans were informed by their own pollsters that if you are in a +15 district you’re within the margin for error, if you’re in a +10 district you’re underwater, and that this might end being an even worse midterm environment than 2006.” In other words, the GOP’s internal polling shows that unless a Republican House member happens to be in a district where Trump won by an exceptionally large margin, they’re losing, and even the big margin might not save them. The 2006 midterms he references were a catastrophe for the GOP, handing Democrats both houses of Congress and a slew of governorships and state legislative roles, ending over a decade of Republican majority.

I really hope the above is reflective of what we see on the actual November ballots.

Democrats need to double-down on this current state of affairs. Not just say goody-two-shoes things and expect to win. Don’t need to amp up and “socialist” rhetoric.
“Trump fucked it all up. Your GOP representative just sat back and did nothing. I WILL NOT SIT BACK!”
