Given how not smooth the graph is, I assume that it’s at least taking field position into account. And ideally time outs remaining.
I mean if you’re down by 5 and 1st & goal from the 1 yard line with a running clock and 20 seconds left with no time outs, that’s pretty radically different from being down by 5 and 1st & 10 from your own 1 yard line with 20 seconds left and no time outs.
BYU’s Friday night game was about the closest I have come in a long time to watching a game live, but that was because it started so gosh darn late. Even then I started watching the 8:15 game about 8:45-9:00 and watched live throughout the entire 2nd half.
Outside of perhaps Thin Mints, which are still subject to the rest of this: no one wants to buy Girl Scout cookies. They’re increasingly overpriced for a decreasing quantity per box, and the varieties generally suck, but people have a nostalgic view of what Girl Scout cookies are based on what they were in the 70s and 80s and they want that to be true today, despite 30 years and counting of evidence that “no, it’s not worth it.”
And way too many people fall trap to being ambushed by kids 100 feet from the entrance of every grocery store and every 10 feet after to the front entrance and the carts, DO YOU WANT TO BUY GIRL SCOUT COOKIES? that’s perfect training for being 18-30 and pushing timeshares on people trying to check into hotels in tourist areas.
There is a team made up of Girl Scouts at the robotics competition I’m currently out, and they’ve had a big platter of cookies out. I’ve had a nice variety of free cookies throughout the day.
Huh, possibly that varies depending on location and which baker (there are two). Around here pickup day was today, so I guess it’s conceivable that someone picked up cookies and got them sorted enough to get to the robotics competition if the Cookie Mom was also involved in the robotics team. But most girls out here won’t get their cookies until tomorrow or later as once the troop’s cookies are picked up the Cookie Mom still has to sort them.
I’d hate the hassle of dealing with the IRS using a personal Venmo to collect cookie money with the new rules. I wonder if they set up a troop or specific personal cookie Venmo account?
The threshold will drop to $2,500, regardless of the number of transactions, for the 2025 tax year. Starting in 2026, the $600 threshold will apply. If you cross this threshold, the platform is required to send Form 1099-K to you and the IRS in the following year.Jan 6, 2025.
This is all incoming transactions regardless of what type. So if you regularly go to dinner and pay and then other parties venmo you their portion that counts toward the 1099 reporting limit and then you would have to provide some kind of detail that it isn’t actually income but a reimbursement from what I understand.
I accepted Zelles at cookie booths last year. I think over the course of cookie season I collected $36 via Zelle. The gal who did Venmo was in the $80 range. It could theoretically push you over the edge but likely not a difference maker.
I collected into my personal account and then Zelle’d the troop leader.
That said, thank goodness that doesn’t go into effect until 2025. My ex was paying child support via Zelle in 2024.
I pay my mortgage to my Dad via Zelle. Is this going to trigger something? So far I’ve only paid January, but it was already over $2,500.
