The eventual Senate confirmation hearings sure are going to be interesting. He will be using recess appointments till then.

Once he makes a recess appointment, there wonât be a need for a confirmation hearing. Thatâs why he wants Congress to adjourn immediately after the inauguration: he can make all the recess appointments he wants - and every appointed position will be a recess appointment - and Congress wonât do anything to overturn any of them.

The House Ethics committee was due to release their report on Gaetz in 2 days. Gaetz resigned from Congress effective immediately, so they no longer have jurisdiction. They need to release the report anyway, but I imagine Mike Johnson will block that

They can still release the report. The question is whether Mike Johnson will allow it to be made public, or whether heâll even allow that to come up for a vote by the rest of the House.

They try to move Medicaid to block grants
They try to reduce SS via chained CPI
I want to say yes, but to the extent we have future elections the right canât piss off old people too much. For now, my money is on heaps of grifting and large, unfunded tax cuts for the wealthy.
