I thought topless was less crass!
At BILs. Suddenly the dog show channel became very interesting.
I thought the SB halftime show was better than usual.
Saw the variety of tweets from MAGA
“This is an advertisement for closed borders”
“If we can learn anything from Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance, it’s that we should be deporting even more people”
“I hate the illegals even more now”
From Fox News article w the tweets above
“The show concluded with a message on the Levi Stadium video board that read, “The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate is Love,” which some critics interpreted as a political message.”
I am happy Trump and the gang like my songs about strippers, heroin, crooked cops and murderous gangsters.
so he watched it, not the kid rock one?
i like the latin music and really an amazing production. Rap isn’t intended for me, especially when i don’t know the words. Didn’t understand any of the words last year either, and i think that was English.
Give me some classic rock. Maybe modern pop, but that is a 50/50.
I love watching the inferiority complex of conservatives angry about bilingual people.
We get it, you only know one language. A lot of Americans are the same; some people just know things you don’t, which isn’t necessarily a fault on your end. Getting angry about it is a fault.
I didn’t watch any of the Super Bowl (I never do, I’m not interested in football. I was watching replays of Olympic curling).
I do speak Spanish, so when talking to my mom about the halftime show she wondered if I would have understood any of it. Doubtful. Rock/pop songs are hard for me to parse in real time. I have no chance with rap.
Apparently my BIL who is a native of Peru couldn’t understand it either.
I’m certainly not an expert, but is seems like understanding the words isn’t really the goal of rap anyway.
My understanding is that Puerto Rican Spanish has a fairly distinct accent that is hard to understand for many.
I’ll admit I have somewhat mixed feelings about the show. It was an impressive performance, but with most of it in Spanish was less relevant and appealing to most Americans. It’s also a halftime show and performances are only going to appeal to a fraction of the population anyway. You could put Taylor Swift up there and people will still complain about it.
I’m wondering if it’s anything like French dialects. There are a lot of jokes in Canada about Quebecers who go to France being spoken to in English because the people in France can’t understand them.
I think you got it right in that only a fraction of the audience is going to like the halftime show. Plus everything is so rushed and music tastes are so varied. I’d probably put it in the lower portion of the top half of half-time shows I’ve seen.
You forgot child abuse:
“Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage / Some say that’s statutory, but I say it’s mandatory.”
Fitting for the Epstein crowd.
American values!
Since elsewhere: Kid Rock would have been a fitting nickname for Epstein Island.
this was me more or less. the beats and rhythms were awesome. he had cool voice/flow. the visuals were cool and I could even recognize why some were meaningful. I enjoyed more than last year where the main excitement was how the dis-track was going to humiliate some other guy (who by consensus deserves it?).
John Stewart last night:
Stewart then expertly picked apart the right wing talking point that Bad Bunny’s all-Spanish performance was not “unifying.” “Why the f**k is it the Super Bowl Halftime entertainer’s job to unify the country? Is that their job? Isn’t there another person whose job description is much more along those lines?”
I got kids I never seen / and their mama’s 17
