This is where we’re going, unfortunately. Trump is slowly but surely giving the perception that Canada is “weak” and doing a poor job protecting the United States from its enemies. It’s always the same stupid playbook. Americans create these fantasies about national security just to invade another country.

Gretzky sold out Canada when he left Edmonton for LA. His loyalties are to the USA not Canada. He is also chummy with Trump which is a disqualifier.

The only former hockey player who had aspirations of being Prime Minister was Ken Dryden who ran for the Liberal Party leadership after serving as a Cabinet MInister. At the leadership convention he was fifth out of five candidates. Dryden, a Cornel graduate, with a law degree from McGill was probably the most articulate hockey player in history.
American hockey fans would know him as the color commentator with Al Michaels for the Miracle on Ice.
