Wasn’t sure where to stick this. Given how blatant the corruption is here, I figured it should probably have its own thread. I’d think that for any other president either of these actions would be impeachable.

I wonder if there is a website with a running tally of all the graft and corruption the Trump crime family has engaged in over the years. Would fill a not-insignificant portion of the internet imo.

Well, around 80 million trump voters and 90 million non-voters act weirdly confident that Trump is not especially corrupt. But yeah, presumably they know better.
I’m not 100% why or how so many people lend their support to an obviously evil man. But I agree it’s not news.

I wonder if my in-laws would actually read that article. They were big T supporters throughout. But the last few times we’ve connected, I haven’t heard much out of them. They might be having buyer’s remorse, but it would really challenge their identity, so probably not likely.

His self-dealing and outright grifting was never out in the open like it is now.
The way I see it..they are going all in to steal as much as they can before they lose the trifecta in November. After that…they won’t have the same kind of control.
I do think this will have an effect on some people. Specially the $1.8bn “fund” and the IRS thing.

Very likely they will lose Congress at this point even with the gerrymandering going on…plus the likely restrictions on voting that they will try on.
Can’t lose the presidency this November.
I know you’ve been away for a while, but we don’t have one of those “winners choose the leader every election” systems.
Um, that is what will keep them in power. It’s the only way. The stupid parts of this country have too much power.

Having Congress as D will work to limit the corruption and grifting because they have the power of the purse and can also investigate.

I don’t think that would stop the grift. Only way to do that is to impeach Trump and everyone else who is impeachable, AND convict, and indict those who can be indicted.
That won’t happen without a complete overhaul of the Senate, plus Spine and Testicle Placement surgery on several GOP senators.
