Just glancing at FB, you can tell who the Trump supporters are because they’re changing profile photos to a bloodied Trump raising his fist and/or sharing some photo to the effect of “I’m now more MAGA than ever.”
This is their Messiah moment, and they’re going to show up at the polls like they’re voting against Hillary in 2016.

I mean, you could certainly tell by other ways, but it’s like … what’s the word I’m looking for here that denotes how numerous people do something in full unquestioning loyalty to someone at the drop off a pin, no questions asked?

My wife commented to me how Bolsonaro (Brazil) also survived an assasination attempt, and it helped boost his poll ratings. He became President shortly after the attempt.
Seems that with the Biden debacle and now this assasination attempt…and now numerous opportunistic “endorsements” from Musk, Ackmann & others, Trump now has a great deal of political momentum.
Going to be very hard to defeat him now come November.

The Bolsonaro attempt was a month from the election, right? Trump will get a short term boost, and this will help with the turnout of his supporters, but 4 months is a long time to digest the news and move on.
This also unlocks a new dynamic with reactions from Trump and his supporters that could further shock the electorate. Could be a messy 4 months.
