I guess if I qualified I would know it
Itās a relatively rare thing, it seems! For a long time I didnāt know I qualified (I donāt think they had a formal program until the last few years), and wondered why all my blood was ending up at childrenās hospitals.
I like the Point system, actually never collected anything off it.
When I was at Met Life I was involved in running the blood drive.
They used to give small token gifts for each donation,
I started a system where you would earn points (including off site and apheresis) and annually you could pick something from the MetLife swag catalogue.
My blood type is O+. They give me bonus points for that.
Oh, mine too! I have never tracked the points, I just know from the app that giving at least 4 times gets me to the max benefit. Maybe for other blood types the max is reached at 6 instead.
I havenāt either. I just noticed when I got the Hero for Babies email notice for 2024 it included a bonus for O+

Having my post donation chips and juice, and my get out of going to the gym pass.
Yeah, you just lost a pound!
Iron was 15.2 today! I always take two prenatal vitamins (extra iron) 90 minutes before I donate and I havenāt had issues since. Iām also on my period.
Donating now
I got stabbed by the red cross a week ago, forgot to bump the thread.

Having my post donation juice and cookie.
Macaroon?
I wish. Bland chocolate chip.
Took 12 weeks between donations. But Iām here.
The tube is vibrating and itās taking twice as long as usual but Iām not going to say anything because I donāt want a readjustment.
You are going to have to step up the pace if you want the jacket.
Iāll be able to donate four more times in 2024, so Iām okay for now! Itās hard to have to try to schedule around my period though, itās becoming a little more irregular and donating at the same time can mean lower iron levels.
