I had some dress shoes. I keep them in the box they came in with some shoes trees in them.

Last I saw them was for a wedding last July, and I will need them for some future weddings.

I look in the box and they are not there. the shoe trees are there. Did I loan them out to my son who then didn’t give them back? So I ask him. He says no, but he could be mistaken.

I discuss this at a friend’s house. He says, ā€œDidn’t you throw them out because the sole was coming off?ā€

I did, indeed.

Speaking of weddings, I have a few to go to this year. Some may include drama.

My nephew is getting married. His fiance is good friends with my sons ex gf, and it was not a pleasant split. Worse, I got along REALLY well with her lol. And I guess she’s coming to the wedding. My son’s the best man. So hopefully everyone stays pleasant.

My neice is getting married as well. She’s the daughter of my sister, that I’ve gone no contact with for many years. She’s a bitter, nasty, angry drunk who puts on airs, and just did some stuff one to many times. But, I have to go to the daughter’s wedding. Which is at the most expensive old-money country club in the area. LIke, full of 90 year old white people all old money. The wedding invitation has a dress code, which leads to a website with ā€˜suggestions on following the garden formal standard’. FFS, I have to wear a suit? I don’t have a suit haven’t worn a suit in 30 years. And my brother in law, he’s never worn a suit or jacket in his life - he wore a shirt at his own wedding, just long enough to walk down the ā€˜aisle’ and then off came the shirt and he fired up the grill for some fried baloney. These are the poeple in our family, and you send them an invitation that says ā€˜garden formal’. That’s my sister.

You could always have more critical plans for that day, like needing to remain available in case any of your advisors have a peace proposal from your Iranian foes.

Who buys an umbrella anyway? You can get them for free at the coffee shop in those metal cans.
