No, it’s not about being cheap, it’s just why buy a whole bottle of ketchup when the only thing it’s good for is freedom fries? And those are not things I cook at home anyway.
We still do this. We put lots of homemade bread in ziploc bags to keep them soft for another day, there is no reason to not reuse them. We’ve got a little circular rack they go on to dry out.
We reuse ziplocs if they have held dry stuff, and throw them out if they become moist
Hot dogs!?
In our house, ketchup on hot dogs just doesn’t pass mustard
That’s fair, I usually do a mix of ketchup and mustard but would agree the mustard is the more key
I don’t eat hot dogs that much anyway. I loved them as a kid, now I think they are meh, but will still eat them during BBQs or at ballgames.
That commercial where the wife says “I got us both something” and she gives him a smart watch or something. And he goes “I got us something, too,” and he takes her out side and there are two autos. (I forget what brand it is).
One of them is a blue pickup and she goes “I love it” and the guy says “I like red” talking about the other one an SUV. So, there’s a pickup and an SUV.
But when the screen with the prices or discounts come up, there are two vehicles, same colors, but the blue one is not an SUV and the red one is the same as in the first shot.
Where did the pickup go?
I thought SNL did a pretty amusing skit making fun of these kinds of commercials
Not at all what annoys me about this commercial, or any red bow vehicle commercial. Look honey, I just spent $30-100k on this without talking to you about it first, aren’t you excited?
I haven’t watched more than 10 minutes of SNL in like 15 years.
We had it on the other night and we knew no one except the host.
SNL is unwatchable. You made it 9.5 minutes longer than I ever have.
My friend bought his wife a car a couple years ago. They were talking about it in the fall, even going on some test drives.
He settled on one they both likes and took the plunge. She was very excited.
Now, this guy makes actuary-type money, so the $60,000 automobile wasn’t a huge investment. He probably had a six figure bonus anyway.
These three statements do not compute in conjunction for me, as someone who makes actuary-type money.
Wait, have I been misunderstanding what “actuary-type money” means for all these years? Do you guys make way, waaaay more than I do??
Have you seen the actress who plays Rudy Guiliani and also did the Sean Spicer skit? She is sooo funny
I know the chief actuary at a decent sized insurer. He makes bank.
he told me I could make half bank if I ever became an actuary, but I’m bad at maths.
That’s what the excel is for!
For sure, the individual comedians are funny. Kate McKinnon is a gift. But SNL is not funny. It has that really awkward waiting-for-the-funny-shoe-to-drop feel of improv, only it’s scripted so it’s somehow worse for that.
That’s fair, yeah I’m definitely picky on what I’ll watch (via youtube typically). Kate McKinnon being in the skit is almost a prerequisite.
I don’t think I’d just watch it live because then you’re stuck with the filler skits.
