How many did our husband buy?

I should buy that, but I’m not spending $100 on a gag. The gag is, we have way too many yoga frogs in our house.
I put my foot down (lol) when it comes to decorating with artwork that’s just phrases like 'live, laugh love". So thankfully we don’t have any of that. My house may be white trash, but that’s where I draw the line.

(*)We actually have a set of moose antlers over the fireplace. I only got away with it because they actually look pretty good - as confirmed by my SO’s friends. It sounds bad, but in practice, it’s not.

FYI ketchup does go bad. Worst case of food poisoning ever. I truly wanted to die and thought I might. Ever since, I’m super paranoid about condiments. I go through the fridge frequently and if age is at all questionable I toss it. :joy:

I don’t even keep my ketchup in the fridge. Nor the mustard.

Like unopened packets from the restaurant or a bottle from the grocery store bearing the label “refrigerate after opening”?

I don’t think the packets require refrigeration because they’re sealed so that would be the equivalent of a very small unopened bottle. But open bottles of ketchup and mustard should be refrigerated between uses.

I mean I guess if you go through it pretty fast then the preservatives might make sufficiently unattractive to organisms that would make you sick.

But it’s not something I’d chance. :woman_shrugging:

I’m 50 years old and never got sick, as far as I can tell, by refrigerated condiments like ketchup or mustard.

The local Dairy Queen had a sign up that they were running out of ketchup packets and would only supply them on request. What is happening to the world?

Why would anyone buy anything at Dairy Queen that requires ketchup?

The chicken strip basket comes with fries.

Some Dairy Queens have a “Brazier” side that serves hamburgers, hot dogs & the like.

I never understood why people would get dinner or lunch at Dairy Queen; it’s an ice cream place.

I love their chicken strip basket. Best in the area. Maybe that doesn’t speak well to the area, but I like it. Also got Blizzards for dessert, so the best of all worlds.

Yes I assume those eventually expire. I always refrigerate condiments after opening. But I still toss them probably well before necessary.

Same with those unopened on the shelf. I am not risking ever being that sick again. I probably should have gone to the hospital.

Eh, it’s not my favorite or anything. But their chicken strips & fries are as good as any other fast food place. So if I’m getting fast food then DQ is on the list of acceptable options.

I would take the chance with mustard, given how quickly I go through it, but ketchup has sugar in it. I’m not leaving that out.

Yeah, we don’t either. We have a whole sideboard of condiments, which is mostly mustards (but also worcestershire sauce and some other sauces not needing refrigeration)
