Hear, hear! (So are we).
Mostly kids making a mess. It may be that my floors are fairly glossy and over time the oils from people walking barefoot clouds them up and makes them look kind of gross where the light reflects off them. Or more likely I am just a bit OCD about it.
Yeah there’s definitely smudges developing on mine.
Real wood. Most of it’s 109 years old, recently re-finished. The more I read articles like the one you posted… I should probably trust Bona (the manufacturer of our floor’s finish) over the local hardwood guy who said to never trust anything but vinegar.
Nice windows. I love a super bright big-window bedroom.
I’m assuming the dresser/bedside table came before the bedspread/curtains? In either order, nicely matched.
It’s a little bold but a bedroom can handle it, imo. The original bedspread was green plaid so I had to rethink that with the navy walls.
And yeah the mirrored sidetables go well with the mirrored vanity (not pictured) that the movers broke .
The sun was a great alarm clock pre-curtains.
The small fry’s room though - she’s got the best (3-paned, front) windows in the house.
This is why i make sure not to have anything too dark/opaque covering the windows.
We are the opposite. Blackout curtains in the bedroom. I don’t need to be awake at 5:30 in the summer.
I agree.
Your smrt.
How do you like it?
We ordered one this weekend after eyeing it for a while. We have a new deck and want something we can use on the deck, and there was a sale this weekend which included the stand, so I went for it.
I’m a big fan, it does smoke while you get it going, but once it hits critical mass it burns extremely clean. And it’s not too heavy so you can move it around as needed. On the flip side, I should remember to bring it into the garage during wind storms or it could perhaps wind up in my neighbor’s yard.
If I were ordering again I might get the largest one, because a lot of my firewood is 18" or so long and won’t quite fit. But I have a chainsaw so I just cut logs in half as needed.
Yeah, we have a bunch of firewood from a small tree we chopped down, so we can adjust the length if we need to (very thin branches), and otherwise we buy firewood from the store, which tends to be pretty short, so I was thinking about that when I bought it. Our deck is also not huge so with the furniture, I wanted to make sure it was a comfortable space, so I’m hoping the bonfire size suits it well.
Glad to hear it’s working out well for you. We love having fires but hate the smokey effects, so I’m excited to give it a try. Should be here tomorrow according to FedEx.
I considered that, but it looked awfully big. And I’m going to be using it under trees, and wanted a smaller fire.
(We haven’t tried it, yet, because it will be a birthday present for Schroeder.)
Yep, the stuff I see at stores looks to be more like 14" long, should be great. I have a wood burning fireplace and go through a lot of firewood so I buy in bulk. I think you’ll be in great shape.
The spark arrestor may be of interest? Not sure about fire risk where you’ll be using it.
It’s backordered, but i ordered one.
Found a tick in our home today. I think it was a random one-off thing, Google says ticks rarely survive inside a home, but immediately started Googling the nuclear solutions. I think I’m calmed down, now.
