Lots of people had Irwin. Strangely, I think 5 people had him #6 on their list
Including me. That is weird.
RIP Jonnie. I watched so many episodes of A Place in the Sun. Good show.
Geez. From the press I skimmed over when making my picks, I thought this was going to be the year.
(However, as I’m currently sitting in a hospital on the floor with a bunch of non-celebeity cancer patients, maybe I shouldn’t express too much frustration.)
Same. IIRC I intentionally left her off my list completely in 2022 and 2023, but her short term prognosis seemed significantly worse leading into this year so she made my list.
I had him #4, I was pretty confident he wasn’t making it much longer.

Toby Keith dies: Country star was battling stomach cancer | AP News
Swing and a miss…cancer diagnosis in 2022.
I had Randy Travis in my last spot. I was on the right genre, just the wrong person. I also thought Keith looked good enough in his last public appearance that 2024 was a year too early.
a bit surprised no one picked Navalny.
I personally felt once imprisoned they would try to not let him die
Same. But perhaps Putin is wishing to ensure non-embarrassing events in the run-up to this year’s election and/or non-embarrassing results by “reminding” folks who’s in charge.
