People I had on my longer list that I didn’t include this year but already croaked: Derek Draper, Glynnis Johns, David Soul
yeah, well my longer list is 150 people
I look at at least that many, but I don’t put that many on the list.
Does anyone else have a dead pool that starts late like I do? I have some names for you that I missed earlier. I can’t use too many of them myself, but perhaps they might work with your rules.
I think that Richard Simmons and Linda Ronstadt are worth considering. It’s not clear what their health statuses are since they are mostly out of public view but it seems likely that their health has deteriorated.
A 2019 interview with Ronstadt indicates that she has a condition Progressive supranuclear palsy which was mistaken for Parkinson’s.

Ronstadt was on my short list, but I saw her interview from last year and considering how she looked vs. how Dad looked in December 2021 (Dad had the same thing as her), I thought she was in too good a shape to die in 2024 + she has a shitload of money to try and fight it off longer
Will the death of any of the people below be reported in one of the following: cnn.com, abcnews.go.com, cbsnews.com, nbcnews.com, npr.org, espn.com, and tmz.com.
Black Bart/ Richard Harris, wrestler
Kathy Brown, singer. Had a number 1 dance hit and a few other lesser hits.
Sean Wallace, safeties coach and acting head coach for Southern University
Mika Immonen, Hall of Fame pool player
I’m thinking this guy won’t make the sources, but it’s possible
Bobby Hehir, Boston Bruins draft pick (never made it to the NHL though)
I think I’m leaning that Black Bart and Kathy Brown will make a news source above and perhaps not the others, but it’s a tough call as they are all somewhat obscure. FWIW Black Bart, Kathy Brown, and Immonen all have a wiki. The other 2 don’t have their own wiki, although Hehir is mentioned in the 1978 NHL draft page and Wallace is mentioned on the 1994 AZ Cardinals page as he had a cup of coffee there before going on injured reserve.
Sorry, I fixed the list to include you. Forgot to update for a 10th contestant .
No rush, @frummie but this is a hit for me.
Hold your horses, we’ve got 357 more days of dying to go.
When my son was little we said this to him and he responded , “I WILL hold my horses, but NOT RIGHT NOW!”

At the moment I only have Mika Immonen on my list for the other pool, and I need to submit tomorrow. I have him pretty low on my list.
A new entry I am considering entering but debating whether he will hit the news sources above is Brian Barczyk. He has 5+ million youtube subscribers so news of his illness is hitting multiple national/major sources (People, USA today, NY Post,…). However, so far it has yet to hit one of the sources above. I think there is a good chance, but it’s not a lock.
A new entry I am definitely submitting is Sven-Göran Eriksson

In my other pool I went with Brian Barczyk as a 1 pointer, figuring he was almost certain to die but might not hit one of the required news sources. He just died on day 1 of the pool, and he did hit the news (TMZ).
Shannon Doherty miracle cancer infusion helping.
Wasted a pick on her
Hal Linden is in a play around LA. Seems to be doing well.
Meh, there’s still 11 months to go in the year. If it’s in her bones, it’s just a matter of time and she might be overstating the help she’s getting hoping she pulls out of it.
