The covid virgins club

yes, she is.

i wear a mask where it’s required. also, sometimes do in the supermarket, sometimes don’t. depends on what others in there seem to be doing. it’s no longer required in supermarkets, but in certain ones many people still wear them.

That was a very interesting read. Highly recommend. Thank you for posting it.

Yes, and the article was much better than the radio segment as well.

I was on a bus for 8 hours Sunday (4 hours to a soccer match, 4 hour return). Vaccinations were required, but it was still riskier than things I typically do when COVID positivity is ticking up like it is now. So far, no symptoms. I’m not out of the woods yet if I was exposed, but I think I’ve passed the median time for symptoms to start.

Well, you’re vaccinated and boosted, I assume. You might get it and be asymptomatic. Only one way to know that you’ve broken your cherry, and that’s to waste a test.

the ticking down portion of covid season certainly didn’t last long if they are ticking up yet again.

Not a surprise or cause for concern

I got an email that someone that went to the soccer match in my section tested positive for COVID. I assume right now that ANY section with hundreds of spectators will have someone with COVID. I am not concerned with that sort of exposure, particularly in an outdoor stadium on a breezy day. What’s annoying is that they refuse to say whether or not this person was on one of the buses or not. I do care about whether or not someone I was on a bus with for 8 hours had COVID. They say they can’t reveal whether or not they were on one of the buses due to HIPAA, which sounds like complete bullshit to me.

I went to an event where we’d all have a lot of contact, and one of the requirements of attending was that we all gave permission to share if we got covid.

But I think “did we share a bus” is a large enough group that it shouldn’t trigger HIPPA.

It is complete bullshit.

The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and other individually identifiable health information (collectively defined as “protected health information”) and applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically.

I get notification if someone who was in the office the same time as me tested positive for covid. They won’t even tell me what floor they were on to know if I’m at risk due to HIPAA, just that they were in the building. Sounds similar to that. Despite the numerous emails telling me I was in the office the same time someone else was who later tested positive for covid, I haven’t caught covid. The last one I got, I hadn’t been in the office for like 3 weeks or some really long time period and I was thinking uh, if I caught covid, it wouldn’t have been from that person. It would be from all the flying and going places I had done over Christmas week.

They can notify you directly rather than make a public announcement about it.

Look to your mail!! THE MAIL!!!

Attendees were notified via bcc email

I’d probably assume if I’m on a bus that someone on said bus tested positive too if it was a packed bus.

Buses were approximately 50% occupied by design

i almost kinda don’t want to know if someone at an event or a bus trip tested positive. it’s everywhere. do we really need this information at all? i’m assuming i’m constantly exposed if i’m doing something around other people.

Or hippos.
(Insert fun hippo meme, cuz I don’t knows how)

(Just saw one with young Hermione stating, “It’s HIPAA not HIPPA,” like in the movie.)

Sounds like BS to me, too, UNLESS attendees on buses were separated into different seating sections such that knowing that someone in section 105 AND on bus 42 tested positive does allow you to identify the person.

I’m guessing that’s not the case & they’re just feeding you some BS to avoid saying what bus the person was on.

No, we don’t need it, but at least some people - particularly those in this thread - still want it.
