Why is PHONATE not a word?
Same with PHONON. You can send them a note about it but they’re pretty stubborn about adding words, especially sciency stuff
QB with no reddit hints! Used the NYT grid after reaching amazing.

Finally got the last word for QB today. Was surprised that CAPTCHA counts as a word
Got QB last night, had a tough time with the last word until I remembered that MAHATMA was a word.
Struggling with Tuesday’s puzzle, resisting the urge to use hints before getting genius but seems to be heading in that direction.
ULLAGE, a common term in wine circles, was not accepted.

I’ve been getting Amazing most days, with the odd Genius. Nowhere near getting QB though.
Practice helps a lot. I was often struggling to make genius a month ago.

I get to Genius frequently but there’s no way I could get to QB without hints. I might be able to get to QB one in twenty times if I spent a couple of hours but almost always there’s a word or two I’ve never heard of and I just don’t have the time. For example, in today’s edition, I’d never heard of CHALLAH, but was able to guess it once I knew the number of letters and starting two letters (after getting everything else).
I’ve been doing it for about two years and definitely getting better. I’m even starting to remember some of the words that I’d never heard of after looking up answers to a previous puzzle.

I typically keep going on my own until I hit Genius then use hints to get to QB
Sometimes I get there quickly, other days I leave and come back to it. Sometimes I forget to finish or fall asleep

Same here, except I eat challah on most weekends
Yesterday sucked hard. I gave up 7 points shy of genius, missing mostly 7 letter words. Got QB 2 days ago, about half way between genius and QB today.
