So uh, do you guys think Putin will invade Ukraine or what

Agree that its about the money. But this is batshit even for Trump.

This feels more like a bizarre shakedown.

Even in my worst nightmares about a second Trump Presidency, I didn’t foresee this crap.

Plus, a promise to investigate Biden, which they never promised. (Marvin Martian voice) “Ooooh, that makes me soooo angry.”

I’m sure it know, but that’s irrelevant to Trump. When you’re President, other countries have to do whatever you want … you can just grab all their natural resources, and they can’t do a thing about it.

Probably more apropos for some other thread, but I can’t see how this doesn’t end in some fashion of worldwide violence.

You can call it WW3, you can call it a Eastern European Conflict, you can call it a Eurasian War, whatever, but tensions are going to boil over somewhere and there’s going to be a fairly clear delineation of who’s good and who’s evil. Once that starts, Trump is going to fan the flames and send the U.S. military to fight - and at that point, the military is going to have to decide if it’s on the side of good or evil.

What hope does Ukraine have with Trump thinking like this?

Trump is an old man, I don’t think he cares if the world burns. The guy has zero empathy or feelings.

I hate to point it out, but between his past words and deeds…this has been extremely foreseeable.

Trump and Putin have miscalculated here.

The EU may be a slow bureaucracy, but when there is a major crisis it can make decisions quickly.

€93bn can be re-directed for defense.

There is also the matter of the frozen Russian funds (€400bn worth) which nobody seems to have mentioned (yet).

I would posit Russia is desperate for those funds so lets see how they try to nudge Trump to let them have access to them.

Do you guys think NATO will remain intact?

I think NATO will survive but be less relevant as the EU moves to be more self-reliant defense-wise.

UK is now pushing back after the latest Trump comments.

Trump is going nowhere with the elections thing.

Good for Starmer! It seems like a no-brainer to me that you should give Zelenskyy a pass on elections while it is being bombarded by Russia! Trump is such a tool.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Trump Says the Darndest Things!

I dare him to just say, “No,” to that.

Oops, wrong thread. I’ll move it.

I won’t wade into there myself, but this screengrab I encountered has me wondering if even /r/conservative is pushing back on some of Trump’s Ukraine comments:
