Shortages and stuff

I’m not a soda drinker either. If I get the hot dog I’ll just fill the cup with water and enjoy not having to make a half-dozen trips to refill the tiny water cups they give you. $1.50 for a hot dog and a good-size paper cup that I can put water in is still a good deal.

The chicken bake thing at Costco is the jam. Do they still serve those?

Where it’s all wrapped up in some sort of dough/crust?

I tried that once and didn’t like it. I’m not sure if they still have it.

Yes

Thank you. This is where it’s at, imo. Not to knock the $1.50 hot dogs or anything, but try the chicken bake.

I think costco snack bar pizza is really pretty good. For the price, it’s outstanding.

Hot dogs are another story. I’m a cheap actuary, so on one hand I really like getting stuff for a low price. On the other hand, I got to wonder how the hot dogs are so cheap? Is it because the content of the hot dogs is only the most undesirable scraps of offal left over after everything else has been chopped away?

I like hot dogs, but I kinda feel safer paying a premium price, trusting (perhaps in vain) that those might actually have regular meat in them, and not lips, sphincters, eye balls, lungs, and kidneys.

a friend used to do QA at a hormel plant. if he was happy to eat the hot dogs at the gas station on the ride home, then there ain’t nothing stopping me from enjoying hot dogs

I think the hot dogs are fine. :woman_shrugging:

The hot dogs at Costco haven’t increased in price, not because the price hasn’t gone up but because the founder threatened to kill the CEO if he raised the price.

Those are preferable over intestines and sawdust, eh?

Is there a honey shortage? My local grocer has both of the local brands they normally stock but none of the national brands. Been this way for weeks.

This. They’re a loss leader to get you in the store and buy other things.

I thought the combo pizza was very good, especially with red pepper flakes, but they discontinued it. I don’t really care for the other two flavors.

My issue is “not my preferred toppings.”
It is a basic Costco profit policy not to care about the edges, but i dont have to join in.

I always left the edges uneaten.

Grrr.

I think his partner probably has a monkey.
