This sounds like a “distress” sale so they may be able to get it at a good price. However they also may not want to have anything to do with it because of the traumatic event that occurred there?
If they are able to deal with the trauma and want to return, having renters may be a positive selling point to some potential purchasers. Good luck to your daughter so that things work out as she’d like.
@dr_t_non-fan and @Cooke it is a $3M+ house. Not sure the sqft but it is huge 2 levels that he lived in alone with 2 basement apartments of which he only rented 1. It has 7 garage bays 5 of which were over-height for his construction equipment. I think he had been trying to sell it for 2+ years already. Even distressed, they couldn’t afford it if our entire family decided to go in together to buy and live there. And my wife and I and our 4 kids and their spouses and kids could probably all live in it comfortably.
This is so sad. We just went there last year, and stayed in the cabins. The lodge was gorgeous. Huge picture window in the great room with an incredible view of the canyon. Glad I got to see it at least once.
Funeral today for one of my son’s friend’s mom who passed away. 67 and had been in poor health for some time. Never recovered from a gall balder surgery she had last year.
A guy in a small town in a neighboring county shot 3 police officers and a K-9, killing 2 of the officers and wounding the other office and K-9. They were responding to a 911 hang up where they had had numerous other domestic violence cases. One case from 2024 was charge but the wife got a lawyer to exercise her spousal privilege and the case was dismissed because her testimony was pivotal.
The prosecutors are going for the death penalty for this and brought back the DV charges from before. I wonder how the wife feels about testifying this time?
Stupid company initiative involves me having to bang my head against a brick wall and battle feelings of rejection each time I try following the instructions for something that will serve absolutely no purpose
Couldn’t sleep last night and today I was a mess
We got a last minute request yesterday to get something done today and of course I couldn’t do it that fast… it requires at least a couple days and I have other projects going on too
My boss wanted something in a few hours that I would have liked to have at least a whole day for, and what with other things going on it was difficult
I went the extra mile on something and someone pointed out in a meeting several times how something optional was done incorrectly, neglecting to point out that if I wouldn’t have done it, it all would have been incorrect and no one would care. Not because they’re malicious, just because they don’t realize.
I hate gender roles that make guys feel bad being stay at home dads and women have to do it all
I got an email tonight that made me feel super replaceable, not that I don’t realize we are all replaceable, just that it was another nail in the coffin of this day
Sounds like your boss needs work on their time estimation skills and in the meantime you end up being the fall guy. If it’s possible to upwardly manage your boss to improve their time estimates that would be great. You may be able to get more warning on potential future time crunches if your boss keeps you informed. Additionally, if your boss takes the extra few minutes to consult with you and other direct reports before promising your time, that would be best.
However if your boss is unable or unwilling to work with you on this, you might need to find a new boss in a different department/company. Some bosses will throw their direct reports under a bus to satisfy their clients or the big boss. You don’t want a boss like that.
friend had a bicycle accident last week. two couple rode to the bar. on ride home, one of them hit a curb and went down hard. 48 hrs in hospital. home now. concussion, stitches, head injury.
