Yeah, I was going to mention obesity, sedentary lifestyles, processed foods and all the crap that’s going into the air and water … all of which are mentioned in that article. It’s not surprising. I mean we’re basically doing everything wrong, so how could we not expect this outcome?
When I was a kid I probably had fast food 3-4 meals a year and processed food almost never. I’m sure a lot of today’s kids have fast food 3-4 meals a week and processed food in many of the remaining meals.
Mini Me doesn’t get fast food 3-4 meals a week, but a heckuva lot more than I did, and she’s probably doing better than a lot of kids on that score.
My sister had to put her sweet dog down last night.
I think it is likely selection bias. I went through a phase when I was in my 30’s of knowing 3 men in their 30’s who had brain tumors and died. Then I went through a phase where I had nobody die in their 30’s, though my social circle had changed/decreased.
Regardless, sorry for the loss.
Oh no!!
Very sad.
Fortunately, my backup machine does 95% of what my expensive machine does, and 100% of what I NEED it to do, but it’s not quite as smooth and doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles, like stitch regulating and auto-tie off and decorative/fancy stitches.
Meh.
We went to see our friend in the LTC home yesterday. She can move her left arm a bit, but still no movement in her fingers; she can move her left leg a little more too.
Could be. Its just a bit surprising/terrifying.
Another person I work with (late 30s and kids) also has cancer.
Red Lobster is no more.
Makes me so sad as we had so many sports dinners there.
It took a while for the article to say, “private equity bought it and bled it dry”, but it looks like that’s the story.
Much too common a story.
“And one day I vowed to be rich enough never to step foot in one ever again!!!”
Their rolls were pretty good, though.
upscale_restuarant = upscale_restuarant - 1
Does that mean our box of Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix will fetch hundreds of dollars on eBay?
Subtitle of the article says, “Endless Shrimp didn’t sink the seafood chain. Wall Street did.”
Did you need to go further than that, really?
well maybe there would be a twist just this one time
… except not
Yeah we went there recently and…
”disappointing” was the nicest thing I could think to say about it.
I mean it’s not that hard to duplicate with bisquick. Just add cheese and garlic.
Food & service levels must have really deteriorated in the last decade then.
We went as College students, and they were usually pretty solid.
