i’ve looked at that hike and the recommended 6 months and wondered why anyone wasn’t in any kind of hurry. i think i could get it in 90 days and feel great about it. 40 seems bonkers.
can I get her number?!?!?!
Hit heart rate of 184 today. Using the Max HR = 220 - age rule, I am asserting that I am 36.
I was pushing pretty hard, but was not all out, think I could get a year or two younger if I worked at it.
i have a HR that runs higher than the formula suggests. at my age it says 166 is my max. i can run at that for an hour
I noticed something similar. I could maintain the 160s for about an hour. If I ventured into the 170s however, I would be toast within a few minutes.
My son had to run a mile in PE. He has not been running much, but he does occasionally run a hard 400 at the end of his band practice. I guess that threw off his perception of pace, as he ran the first lap in 70 seconds. Ended with a 5:45.
He is officially faster than me for the mile. Think a 5K might be close.
The opposite of procrastinating.
5K training back in motion. Turkey Day 5K goal is sub 28 minutes. Going to run 3x a week with the added one speed/track day now
I once worked with a guy who had this logic, but about cold showers. As ridiculous as it sounds to me, he was one of the happiest people I’ve known.
I won the shoe lotto last night at the local run store + Mizuno rep sponsored run. I get a free pair of Mizuno shoes.
I do not like running with this store because they are so unorganized and unfriendly. Last night they had a new route and I asked the “leader” how many miles it was. He says “oh about 3”. It was 4.3 miles. Also, when I got back they were already calling off the lotto winning tickets (that you got once you finished running). I grabbed one quick and told them there were still three other runners out there. They proceeded to call off winners for other items. UGH!
all that is frustrating, sure. but you WON!
