You can do it! I predict 19:53
I think sub 20 after that workout is more likely than not. Go get it.
You can do it.
Race went poorly. 6am temps of 72 w humidity did not favor me.
I am disappointed
you’ll get em next time, champ!
Hard to believe. The San Francisco Half Marathon, on a supposedly US Track and Field Certified Course, was apparently less than 13.1 miles. [still being investigated, but apparently the case.] There were actually 2 half-marathon courses, and the full marathon course, where the two halfs together were almost exactly (but not exactly) the full course.
It is one half course that was almost certainly short. The other half course may have been very slightly short, and the full course maybe 0.2 miles long.
What was your time at least?
faster than last year by 40 seconds. but way off what I was shooting for.
2230
Next one will be faster. Good progress though!
Had an injury, so was off running for a bit.
About two weeks back in, and pleased with how quickly it is coming back. Up to my normal run (six miles), just slightly slower than before. The biking I did likely helped.
Had a funny moment today. I passed a runner, and she gave me a look like she did not like getting passed. Or perhaps more accurately, she does not like getting passed by a goofy looking middle aged guy. As I went by, my watch went off for the mile, and it announced my heart rate. Except it is not actually my heart rate since it is an old watch and the sensor seems almost random. It said, loud enough for her to hear, “heart rate 132 beats per minute”, when I am sure I was above 160. I could not help but smile.
Lol big burn time. I’m passing you in my sleep.
my occasional bouts of sciatic problems roared to life a week ago. right leg is not in a good way. back to the maintenance exercises for a couple of weeks to realign. but can’t try to run through it as the foot goes numb here and there.
Those are some small cupcakes!
Probably no sugar. Or packed with raisins (paging @breadmaker).
We are all just too old fat and out of shape to run without injury.
I developed planters fasciatis months ago. Took probably 3 months for the pain to disappear. Gave it some more weeks. Hopped on the treadmill for only 5 minutes. Next day, pain.
I think my running days are over, which is fine I’m not really a body shape for running. Gonna hop on the spin bike I think for my cardio.
I’ve taken a few weeks off with heel pain. Now doing a lot of swimming. Got up to a mile for the first time in 20 years.
