RIP thread

Only 16 as far as I can tell. Such an incredible actor. Ordinary People is one of my all time favorite movies.

[on Kate Bush] Barry Richardson, who was the hairdresser on Nicolas Roeg’s ‘Don’t Look Now (1973)’, asked me if I’d do a music video with Kate Bush. I told him no and we went on to other conversations. A couple of days later there was a knock on my door. I lived in the Savoy Hotel (in London). On the river. Suite 312. I loved it there. So cosseted. So private. Only the floor butler rang the door. I opened it. There was no one there. I heard a voice saying hello and I looked down. Standing down there was a very small Kate Bush. Barry had told her where I lived. What can you do? She wanted to explain what her video was about. I let her in. She sat down, said some stuff. All I heard was ‘Wilhelm Reich’. I’d taken an underground copy of his ‘The Mass Psychology of Fascism’ with me when I went to film (Bernardo) Bertolucci’s ‘Novecento’ in Parma. Reich’s work informed the psychological foundations of Attila Mellanchini, the character Bernardo had cast me to play. Everything about Reich echoed through me. He was there then and now he was here. Sitting across from me in the person of the very eloquent Kate Bush. Synchronicity. Perfect. She talked some more. I said OK and we made “Cloudbusting”. She’s wonderful, Kate Bush. Wonderful. I love that I did it. (What do I remember) about doing it? I remember being in the car and the hill and them taking me, taking Reich, away and looking back through the back window of the car and seeing her, seeing Reich’s son Peter, standing there. And I remember the first morning on set seeing her coming out of her trailer smoking a joint and I cautioned her, saying she shouldn’t smoke that, it’d affect her work, and she looked at me for a second and said she hadn’t been straight for nine years and I loved her. I’m confused
did he die or is this posted in the wrong thread? Or am I just confused? (Would not be the first time)

Would have been better in the sports RIP, but I assume it’s the official RIP of the Warriors dynasty

Here’s the question
what if they somehow re-load with another superstar and win with Steph, Draymond, their current youngsters, and this newly added piece (like the Kevin Durant championship)
does that count as part of the dynasty? Or is Klay leaving the official close of the dynasty?

4 titles, 6 finals appearance, 8 years, all 3 drafted by the Warriors. I’d say if the Warriors reload that would be separate from the dynasty. But I don’t see them reloading unless Jonathan Kuminga somehow becomes that superstar, their cap situation is FUBAR right now.

Oh no, will they get relegated??

I don’t think anyone would be so cruel as to make them go play soccer.

We have tons of bb players here. No reason for billionaires to hog it all, while also holding college players as slaves for colleges.

the Champion Ship of Theseus?

Hehe
although I went to my first ever NWSL match a week ago and I have to say, it was a lot of fun. I’d go again
even though I certainly had nothing intelligent to add to the conversation about whether a player had or had not fouled another player or whether or not the official was correct to call offsides.

I, uh, assume the pay is substantially lower than the NBA though, so a player’s reluctance to switch is warranted.

Richard Simmons

my ma watched his work-out shows all the time, and I especially remember Sweatin to the Oldies (and she got me to do that with her)

I thought he was funny, and he was definitely upbeat
