I found this a few months back:
I remember his SNL performance in the 70s. I remember watching, thinking - what in the wide world of sports is this?
Meatloaf even had a role in Fight Club.
The guy was an amazing performer.
RIP
Really terrific performer. I saw him in concert at least three times. Only need three words to describe the shows, Giant Inflatable Bat.
His name was Robert Paulson.
RIP, Meatloaf.
Never thought he would make it to 74. Great accomplishment.
Well played
That album was amazing. Obviously huge credit to Jim Steinman (RIP). Two Out of Three Ainât Bad has extreme significance for me.
RIP
agree, it was the combination

Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends.
His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including âFight Clubâ, âFocusâ, âRocky Horror Picture Showâ and âWayneâs World.â
âBat Out of Hellâ remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.
We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time.
From his heart to your soulsâŚdonât ever stop rocking!
And Iâd be hard pressed to get to the top of this list.
RIP
Deborah Loaf has the satisfaction in knowing that he loved her till the end of time.
How many of yâall lip synced this song to your dance partners back in high school?
On the song PBTDL - the female singer is Ellen Foley, who was the Defense Attorney on Night Court before Markie Post
Yeah, I am a huge fan of each, and together they made 1+1 = 5 kind of magic together. The last song on âBatâ is called âFor Crying Out Loudâ and it is a magnum opus for both. But Meat Loaf rarely performed the song in concert. It is long and emotional and difficult to sing. Iâve seen him perform it live on youtube videos, and he comments on how the song intimidates him. Like âStairway to Heavenâ and âBohemian Rhapsodyâ it changes tempo and feeling in different sections, and I think it holds up with these two songs as being among the greatest songs ever put to vinyl.
I saw Meat Loaf in concert on the Bat II tour, at a big venue near Chicago (Tinley Park). They were the best concert seats I have ever had⌠2nd row center. It was so close we could see him sweat. As was his reputation, he sang until he damn near passed out on stage.
âTime Warpâ is the song everyone remembers from Rocky Horror, but âHot Patootieâ is my favorite.
âHis name was Robert Paulsonâ
Sadder than meatloaf for me:
Oh, wowâŚI remember his stand up routine about being fat and being asked to sit on the concrete couch.
I canât stay longâŚIâm in between meals.
thatâs something. they were mentioning all week (in MSP) that he announced he had cancer.
âWell, thatâs a rather tender subject. Another slice, anyone?â
We donât talk about that
Clark Gilles. Islanders
