I listened to the first Blood, Sweat and Tears album countless times when I was in first year at university. I still believe it was one of the most enjoyable albums of all time. David Clayton-Thomas was no saint but he could sure belt out the lyrics. RIP David

BS&T’s first album was Child Is Father to the Man. I played it on 8-track until it fell apart. I also had their subsequent 3 albums: Blood, Sweat and Tears; Blood, Sweat and Tears 3; and BS&T 4.

Probably not so well-known in the US but for lovers of British comedy, she was a legend.

I think you mean their second album. DCT didn’t appear on the first album. Al Kooper (who had formed the band and was then kicked out after the first album) sang on that album. Both albums are great in very different ways.

I met Tommy Hunter when I was about 10 years old when he was doing his CBC radio show.
Our school had organized a bus trip to the CBC studio in Toronto and we got to be in the audience for the live performance of his show. I got interviewed during the broadcast and met Tommy and his band members after the show and got their autographs.
i was not a C&W fan but he was huge in that genre. It was a thrill for a farm kid like me to meet a celebrity like him.
RIP Tommy.

Enjoyed lots of Sam Neill movies. He does a great job of playing “normal guy that goes insane” type roles. Saw In the Mouth of Madness and Event Horizon recently.

A Cry in the Dark was very good. I saw it years after the Elaine/Seinfeld reference, which I now find quite insenstive

Event Horizon is a creepy movie
I thought it was a good Down Under accent (the movie was Australian but Meryl Streep’s character grew up in New Zealand).
