Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

The issue is literally that they changed the bylaws so that they can’t accept donations without the illegal name on the building. Intuitively, the judge should be able to say that you can’t change your bylaws to violate federal law and reject the change, but I don’t know what legally the options are.

Ah, I missed that specific detail somewhere along the way.

Massie introduced an impeachment resolution on Hegseth  . Won’t succeed, but might be interesting

Dude has the Merde Touch:

It’s hard to get certainty because members shuffle around, but it looks like the current Kennedy Center board is about 2/3 appointed by Trump (36 seats), not counting 7 more seats held by Congressional Republicans. (Seems one seat is presently contested, as Trump may have illegally named Todd Blanche to one of the seats.) Every Obama- and Biden-era appointee was removed.

That Trump board took a perfectly solvent institution and illegally declared that Trump’s name had to be on the building. Then they decided they could only take donations if they had that name, then decided that because they’re broke without donations they need to close.

Some notable members:
Lee Greenwood
Pam Bondi
Elaine Chao
Laura Ingraham
Dana Kraft (married to Robert Kraft, football & sex parlor enthusiast)
formerly Usha Vance, now removed

Considering that the Glorious Leader is the chair and appointed a supermajority of the board, I suspect this is more “I can’t get my way so I’m going to smash my toy” rather than regular :poop:

Wonder what he plans to build there or put into the existing building.

My money is on a large obelisk, taller than the Washington Monument, to celebrate his greatness.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a couple of round pavilions attached, and the entire complex was surrounded by well-trimmed shrubbery, to celebrate his supposed…well, never mind.

Joel Berry is the managing editor of the “satirical” Babylon Bee (quotations b/c many of their punchlines are racist or misogynist and not actually reasonable satire) but I believe his Twitter account is meant to be serious.

Depending on your political stances, this might count as a darnedest thing.

This was an awful lineup even before Clavicular got arrested on rape charges.

Makes him more firmly MAGA

Its what tends to happen when you get a critical mass of largely uneducated people voting for a clown in the most powerful country (at the time) on earth.

When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus
