I mean, she is being targeted for being white. The league and its players resent the fact that she is the WNBA while being both white and good (certainly better than that Angel Reese). Her treatment is BS.
That said, not sure what these lawmakers expect to do about it.
Harass the league. Maybe it will fold, which will be a win, unemploying more black people than white people. They will have to contend with rich people who own the teams, though.
Back to Russia, to play for oligarchs.
She gets fouled. There are rules against it. This is not a work environment: it is a play environment. Work rules (Fed Discrimination, etc.) don’t apply on the court or any playing field (IMO).
I don’t think the “the league” – the owners are administrators – resent her. It makes way more money now than before. Opposing team owners have sellouts when she comes to town. Players? Eh. Why care about them?
One could liken it to how Messi gets fouled. Is it because he is shorter than average? Height discrimination? Would short lawmakers demand he not get fouled so much?
And, again, they should stop acting like they care about women’s sports. They don’t. Playing the race card makes them pathetic.
Hmmm, hadn’t thought of it that way. I bet these lawmakers haven’t either. Hope they don’t end up acting like the racist sheriff in the episode of Walker we just watched last night (sheriff and his deputies “keep the peace” in their small town by bullying non-whites and occasionally killing them and dumping them in “The Pit” east of town).
Maybe. As we refine our sensibilities, bad actors are pushed out of the marketplace of ideas. So they either strike from the shadows or wait for a rare opportunity to reemerge.
A terrific episode. First victim’s “cousin” Jimmy tries to intervene in that sundown town. Checks a lot of boxes, including “overt racism” exhibited by the bad guys
I interpreted the Acyn post as disagreeing with Kevin McCarthy about how Republicans act. And I think even think of Santos. Because they had a very bad candidate with Trump, and didn’t walk away. And still haven’t.
(I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Chinese info warriors are fueling discontent on social media…but I think there’s more to the opposition…and more validity to the opposition… than that.)
“This stuff sounds like drunken dude behavior,” Carolla said. “People get weird with this stuff, but I would say most every guy I know did what he’s being accused of at one point or another with their girlfriend at some point after a night of drinking.”
He continued, “It’s basically like: I’m drunk, I’m horny, I weigh 50 pounds more than you, we’re gonna have sex, it’s not really rape because we sleep in the same bed and I’m just gonna pass out and then the next day I won’t really remember what happened but I’ll buy you some flowers. It’s a basic drunken dude thing.”
Got drunk, lived with a chick in their 20s, horny, f*cked up, she’s like “I’m going to bed.” He’s like “I’m gonna get some before you pass out and then we’ll both pass out.” Yeah, that’s standard drunken blue collar dude behavior.
