Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

Felony while in office ESPECIALLY should result in jail. Judges, politicians, and lawyers should be held to a higher standard, not a lower (or no) standard.

I would agree for felony related to office. Garden variety felony same punishment. Open to hearing reasons for different treatment.

I agree in principle, although implementation would require some way to force objectivity in the decision of whether to investigate, prosecute, etc.

Otherwise, there’s too much opportunity for mischief as when the pendulum of politics swings in a different direction.

Having control of House, Senate, White House, Supreme Court and all the major donors to weather technology, you’d think MTG would be on top of stopping this, at least in Red State areas.

soros money is strong!

What a bag of dicks.

Don’t insult bags of dicks that way.

I guess you can’t lose by using football analogies in Texas when talking about the flood disaster:

**”The question facing Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas at a news conference on Tuesday was whether he would call for an investigation into possible failures surrounding the deadly floods, which include a lack of state and local spending on flood control measures and warning systems.

To answer, Mr. Abbott said asking about blame was “the word choice of losers,” and then invoked a beloved Texas tradition — football — as he deflected questions about accountability for a disaster that has left at least 111 people dead and more than 170 missing.

“Every square inch of our state cares about football,” Mr. Abbott said, referring to the Friday night lights of high school fields and the state’s college and pro teams. “Every football team makes mistakes,” he added.

Extending the metaphor further, the governor said losing teams assigned blame while championship teams responded to mistakes by saying: “We got this. We’re going to make sure that we go score again, that we win this game.”**

Sounds like a team with no play book.

A nice compilation of official sources promising the Epstein files.

Patel unequivocally stating that the files exist and he will release them because sex trafficking has no place in the US.

This probably isn’t news to any of us, but it’s just incredible to hear Pam Bondi talk about how terrible it is the the Epstein files had been covered up, and she has truckloads of evidence and the files sitting right on her desk, they will be released, and…

Nevermind. New orders. The files aren’t real.

If the DOJ prosecutes these guys, I’d bet heavily on a Trump pardon.

Big IF there.

Absolutely.

On one hand, they are MAGA faithful who should never be prosecuted for any crimes.

On the other hand, they bilked MAGA faithful and evangelicals out of big money so perhaps connected folks will raise hell.

I didn’t see the interview and haven’t seen a transcript of it. Based on the description, this post belongs here.

Have been trying to find the Kirk-Colbert interview but am getting suspicious it never happened…..

Well, CBS is owned by Paramount, so they might have deleted the interview… (tfh)

The dangers of reposting from facebook without verification. I couldn’t find anything current. Kirk may have appeared on Colbert several years ago. I didn’t dig too deeply.

Good point. Sorry
