Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

Bold strategy, and all that.

Increased supply of what? And lower aggregate demand of what?

No, I get no service on that antisocial media site (from my work PC).

Mercer Vancouver could use a funny actuary…just saying’!

I remember doing a product introduction for a group of agents. I tried to include some humor. Afterwards one of them caught me and said
“This is the first time I’ve heard an actuary who was funny … … intentionally.”

That’s a quick win for DOGE, if they could make it so the truckers don’t have to do a dump on the side of the road.

Bill title:

To authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as “Red, White, and Blueland”

Now that “Red White and Blueland” has been used for Greenland what will he refer to Canada as in that annexation bill? Our historical moniker of “The Great White North” should resonate with Trump supporters for reasons other than its original meaning?

Jesus fucking Christ

You are just figuring that out now?

Just to be clear… that’s real right? Not some spoof satire page?

I shared it with a few others and am getting pushback that this is fake, so I wanted to be sure. (It’s so hard to tell these days.)

If you prefer, you could instead reference https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/361

“H.R.361 - Make Greenland Great Again Act”

Yes, https://www.congress.gov/ is the official site of Congress, and you can get to the list of bills by clicking the legislation link. And the bill sponsor is a Republican, so the title isn’t just Democratic trolling.

That’s what I thought. Thanks.

The question is, is it Republican trolling (the way that the proposed “Life Begins At Erection Act” in Mississippi and Ohio is Democrat trolling).

If it does turn out that it’s both real and serious, then :grimacing:.

The US might have attained its goals on increased security and economic cooperation with Canada, Greenland, etc., by just sitting down with their elected officials to discuss these issues. I have no doubt that Canada and Greenland want to work closely with the US but all that has been accomplished so far by the US threats is a good deal of hostility towards the US by Canada and Greenland. US leaders have forgotten how to talk civilly and productively with other nations. They only use bullying tactics now and tariffs hurt people.

It’s pretty bad when you have to question the official Congressional website.

Yes, these clowns are real.

Please let that be a satirical bill.

Nope. Not satire.
