Republicans Say the Darndest Things!

Was reading recently, but don’t have a link at hand. It’s a MTG talking point that Zelensky took US aid money to Ukraine and bought two yachts with it.

She’s repeated this claim, alongside other GOP congresspeople, in Congress when campaigning against bills that would assist Ukraine against Russia.

Turns out, the entire story was fabricated by an online newspaper based in Russia out of whole cloth, then QAnon/MAGA picked up on the story on Truth Social, and the Russian disinformation spread to Marjorie Taylor Green who is now vocally using it to support Russia by removing aid from the country they’re invading.

Her stupidity very literally kills people.

It doesn’t matter whether she is stupid or not. American conservatism has embraced post truth as a means to gain or maintain power.

She only has to be smart enough to fool her constituents, who seem to be pretty gullible and unconcerned about how stupid they look when voting for her. Makes liberals cry? Check.

57000 of them voted for her (unopposed) in the primary.
Four democrats split 18000 votes.

Apparently all the nonsense about only vote on election day and only count the votes on election day tallied before midnight is out the window.

Details 3 Republican Senators parroting the Russian disinformation they were fed, as they champion legislative actions to assist Russia in their invasion.

The NY Post had it right:

Republicans want a county of 64 people to have equal power to a county with 4,700,000 people.

They know they’re getting less popular over time and they’re scared they won’t win Texas soon.

There’s all kinds of “good” stuff in the TX GOP platform:

(I’m amused by the file name, even if I’m not amused by its contents)

Yup. It could easily have been written in 1953.
