I stand corrected. I remembered the link to China and that Epoch Times ranges somewhere from questionable to fully misleading, and conflated it with the likes of RT.

I’m no literati, but I thought the point of the scarlet letter was to point out the hypocrisy of the judgement made against the protagonist. Particularly because it was the woman being singled out for adultery while the male who committed the same sin was not similarly punished. It is essentially a story about a woman going against societal norms.
It seems like her point is reasonable to the extent she is being ridiculed for going against the grain. I think her choice of why is idiotic, but the criticism over the A stunt seems misplaced. But again, I’m not overly familiar with the book so happy for someone to explain why I’m wrong.

I’m not suggesting she is being singled out for being a woman, all got criticized. So maybe that makes it stupid? I think most of these types stunts are generally stupid, I’m just not sure this one is particularly egregious.

I couldn’t find reporting on this, but my lawyer aunt who tracks things well told me Gaetz was forced to initiate the recall of McCarthy from the Democratic side of the aisle, because the GOP was so pissed with him that they wouldn’t let him speak from their side.
I think he was making the point that if he was president Hamas wouldn’t dare attack Israel.
I enjoy the simultaneous attacks that the Hamas attack was because Biden is weak. Meanwhile, Republicans can’t do so much as send aid to fund the Iron Dome, because they’re too busy eating themselves to decide who leads them in the House.
Not to mention appoint an ambassador to Israel during this terrorism threat.
Not to mention keep the government open. Tick tock.
