And the crowd applauds uproariously at everything he says.
But Biden is the divisive one.
Yep, unlike those several previous occasions when a peak was the same height or lower than the previous peak, this time it’s different.
Steven J. Milloy is a lawyer, lobbyist, author and Fox News commentator. His close financial and organizational ties to tobacco and oil companies have been the subject of criticism, as Milloy has consistently disputed the scientific consensus on climate change and the health risks of second-hand smoke.[1][2]
Climate scientists have a political ideology to promote. We need more unbiased analysis from lobbyists for the oil industry.
“Climate is a Hoax”
I think he might be ironically correct. Climate is defined as the average weather in an area over a long period of time.
Well if it keeps changing then I suppose you could say it’s a hoax to suggest that a long-term average is a meaningful concept.
The long-term average national debt also shows little cause for concern. But no one promotes that as meaningful.
Obviously that isn’t the point Milloy was trying to make though.
I thought the joke was even that specific chart has an obvious roughly linear trend.
Have you never heard of using a moving average to eliminate noise and reveal a trend?
A long-term, high-quality, and location-specific historical daily temperature and precipitation dataset constructed by Lai and Dzombak (2019) was used in this study. The daily climate data compiled by Lai and Dzombak (2019) include long-term daily temperature and precipitation data for 93 U.S. cities with both temperature and precipitation records starting earlier than 1900.
I was merely referring to the definition of “climate”.
If Milloy thinks that “climate” is a hoax, I think ARIMA might make his .
You said that long term average is not meaningful for any nonstationary variable and gave national debt as an example. National debt is all signal and no noise so moving long term average is not meaningful. Whether it is meaningful for the stock market is controversial. It is meaningful for for climate variables.
You’re digging way deeper into my intended-as-a-joke “analysis” than I ever really intended anyone to do.
That said, no I don’t think it’s especially meaningful to say that on average our national debt is only $42 (the answer to everything, the universe, and life itself) so there’s nothing to worry about. And if you average in enough years, $42 is the correct average national debt.
But to break out the hand puppets some more, the guy said “climate is a hoax” when he obviously meant “climate change is a hoax” so I was just trying to “interpret” his words literally to get them to the opposite of what he obviously meant. It was a joke.
You joke?
Need to post in the “Things I Learned” thread.
This is needling. Only for posters I deign worthy of it.
I gotta say, I commend Jordan for his consistency on this issue even if I disagree with his position and hope these comments come back to bite him in the ass. At least he honest about trying to take away women’s rights.
Yep. No abortions for the rape victims he ignored in the locker room. No abortions for women rape victims he is ignoring now. Allegedly.
Gotta say it’s weird seeing his name spelled correctly. I’m so used to seeing it as Gym Jordan in reference to his cowardly behavior.
Lol. I thought for sure we were gonna get another “Well technically he’s right.”
Uh yeah, sure. If all you care about is the existence of the planet with no regard to whether it can continue to support human life.
Selfishly, I’d like to be able to continue living on the earth.
