I solved today’s Redactle (#208) in 32 guesses with an accuracy of 81.25%.
I got confused by how the top looked… now that I know what that looks like, if I get another from that category, I’ll get it much more rapidly.

Yeah I immediately started to fill out that weird thing under the title by guessing a bunch of numbers and letters. I literally only guessed 2 actual words.
I think I would have gotten it that way if they’d have used 1, 2, 3 instead of 01, 02, 03.
I looked at that thing at the top briefly and my best guess was it was some kind of weird parsing error or something so I completely brushed it off. Didn’t even think of it again until I solved it.

Cheated. I had the rough idea of what it was, more or less, but I’d never have gotten this one.
I got modern at guess 21, and post at guess 22, but it didn’t occur to me to try postmodernism until guess 82.

The numbers gave me 2xxx tons pretty fast. And I got that water was involved, so that gave me ship at 28. But I’ll be darned if I can think of the other word. I’m gonna let it sit for now and maybe something will come to me.

Cheated. I got that it was the related to ships fairly early and was trying every nautical word I could think of. Took a break from that and got quite a few hits with Asia and Asian, which got me Chinese. But I did not know this word, at least not in this context. Fun.

dothemath’s clue didn’t help, but the mention of Asia in Mathman’s post did. Looking back, I didn’t try any location words at all. I think that the weight I discovered held me back on this one. I was definitely thinking bigger ships than I imagine for junks.
I’d seen the term before and it stuck in my mind as such an odd name for a type of ship. Otherwise I don’t think I’d have remembered it
