Oof. I was all over the place today. Kept getting hits but small ones.

Yeah, same. First good clue was trying natural before death, which led me to try poison. But I didn’t really hone in until i saw united nations and decided to just trial and error a year for it. That gave me 1956 and got me looking to the middle east.

I saw ‘opposite’ and my first guess was ‘same,’ which had some hits. Thought maybe electrical charge or magnetic something, nope. Guess 5 was ‘he,’ followed by ‘his’ which helped a ton. Then ‘psychology’ at guess 8, ‘Sigmund’ at guess 10, then a few random guesses before ‘complex’ at 17.

I had his at #1 and it did seem like a lot of hits for something that I found out a couple guesses later wasn’t about a person, but it didn’t lead me anywhere. I missed a bunch of potential clues - five year old boy, girl, gender, all in the 50s. Sex at 79 got me sort of on the path finally. I didn’t get to father mother daughter son until 100, though, then I wasted time on some Freud guesses before realizing the answer.

I had mother and father at 19 and 20. I probably should have got it a lot sooner after having the phrase “sex with his mother” at 70
Lol. I hadn’t thought of the other possibilities it could have led to until now. Step-sister, pizza delivery, and a whole bunch of other stuff I definitely won’t type here.

I probably should have guessed Freud sooner, but I knew it couldn’t be the subject of the article.
Plus my first thought seeing The [blank] [blank] was it was some sort of religious or spiritual leader like the dalai lama or something like.
I had a similar thought as you did in the second sentence there. Had I not gotten lucky it’s an avenue I would have explored.

With all the numbers and, in particular, percentages, I thought it was economic to start and got just enough hits for it to mislead for a while. I didn’t try country until 47. It took me a while then to think of countries N of SAfrica.

I thought it was a city, and then I guessed country. That pretty much told me what I needed to know. Then ‘Africa,’ and then northern, eastern, western, and finally southern. Pretty lucky the past two days!

I always cheat on countries by opening google maps and looking at country names. For one, I don’t know how to spell a lot of these country names.

Yeah, similar to mpc. I had the phrase “a landlocked country in Southern Africa” and I simply don’t know enough about African geography so I opened Maps.

Blur was still too showy.

I’m glad I checked the title and saw the length before guessing Mount Everest.
