Redactle

I solved today’s Redactle (#26) in 142 guesses with an accuracy of 61.27%.

Globally, 4236 players have solved today’s Redactle so far

Global Median: 89.00 Guesses; 67.66% Accuracy

Global Average: 118.63 Guesses; 67.33% Accuracy

My main issue is realizing I need to try -all- variants of particular words.

Yes.

rechecking stats:

Global Stats

  • Globally, 10535 players have solved today’s Redactle so far
  • Global Median: 100.00 Guesses; 66.00% Accuracy
  • Global Average: 136.05 Guesses; 66.19% Accuracy

percentage accuracy seems to be stable, but median/average guesses is up a lot

154 - 55%

120 - 38%

and it didn’t give me any stats, but I guess because not enough people have played yet?’

I noticed the spelling “fibre” – are we getting the british/canadian wikipedia here?

Okay, on reload it gave me this:

Global Stats

  • Globally, 2032 players have solved today’s Redactle so far
  • Global Median: 88.00 Guesses; 43.85% Accuracy
  • Global Average: 111.52 Guesses; 46.02% Accuracy

wouldn’t that be dependent on the person making the entry?

I wouldn’t think the editors would go into that level of detail.
I have seen both BC and BCE, and CE and AD. so may have some words with extra U’s

spoiler, dude

I would think if I quoted blurred text, the quote would blur

current stats:

Global Stats

  • Globally, 13094 players have solved today’s Redactle so far
  • Global Median: 112.00 Guesses; 41.12% Accuracy
  • Global Average: 148.58 Guesses; 44.56% Accuracy

I would like to see a graph of how the median/average changes over time

I solved today’s Redactle (#28) in 52 guesses with an accuracy of 59.62%.

current stats:

Global Stats

  • Global Average: 125.47 Guesses; 40.37% Accuracy

I don’t think the system works too well w/ chemical formulas – I was trying to figure out two-letter elements, but it wanted CH for one of the bits, as the C didn’t have a subscript on it.

#28 took me 79 guesses with an accuracy of 60.76%

I had sugar at guess 15, annoyed it took me another 64 guesses.

187 28.88%

I was at almost 50 before I got anything at all. And at the end I ran into the singular/plural issue for an embarrassing number of guesses, which was just dumb. “How could the first word of the paragraph not be the topic?” Duh.

a lot of misses 202- 32%

101 38.61%

I got “same species” in the first paragraph at 46 and seemed to be getting closer with evolution fitness competition, then actually guessed canibalism and canibalize at 71 and 72. It should have a “that is not a word. do you really want to try that?” feature to make sure I don’t eliminate stuff based on misspellings.

If I add one space after the word, the Spell Check underline appears, if wrong
Though I have couple of typos each game, many times adding a ', when hitting enter

since numbers, slang, symbols, foreign words, prefixes, proper nouns… are possible a spell check in the game would be difficult

Yeah, I added the “are you sure?” to handle those other cases where you want to guess a non-dictionary guess.

Thanks for the space tip.

This is my fourth, I think I’m getting slightly better. Maybe.
