I visited Georgetown, Guyana on Bata business in 1980 and it was a poor but safe city. Hoping that the wealth from the current oil boom trickles down to the less fortunate but I am not optimistic.
HP sauce has dates and tamarind. I’d suggest the taste as something like a mix of ketchup and A1 steak sauce

No wonder I couldn’t describe the taste. It literally tasted like nothing I’ve eaten before (apart from the ketchup)
