We are out of power and it’s not looking like it’s coming back soon.

Went to bed last night at 9 lol. Power was out and even the cell phone coverage was out so I couldn’t even watch a movie on my tablet.
Every light in the house, every fridge alarm, etc, came blaring back on at 10:30 lol. Back to normal now.

I spoke to a guy in NFLD years ago who was born a british citizen. NFLD only became part of Canada in the 1940’s IIRC.
That might explain Fish Actuary’s province but Cape Breton in Nova Scotia was also missing!

I was blasting away some ad email and one was advertising $500 off in the header. It made me consider that that kind of advertising in particular seems to backfire on me. My first thought on seeing the header was “Boy, anything that can advertise a $500 discount has got to be something that is more expensive than I want to pay”. Of course, I suppose it could just be that I’m cheap.

When I was in elementary school in the 1950s, my Hilroy exercise book correctly included Nfld. and I expect it did every year going forward until this year. Nfld has offshore oil so maybe Hilroy’s US owners are assuming Trump will seize it for US this year.
Just found a teeny baby snapping turtle on the bike path. Husband is relocating it several yards away near water.

The Chinese lantern flies are becoming a real problem. Killed a couple dozen today, most found in the pool or deck.
